The Tetons in Jackson Hole & the Cascades in Seattle, Washington
Got this for my GNU B-Pro and so far so good. It was difficult to get the pucks aligned perfectly so that my Spark bindings could slide easily but I'd say most of my transitions have been effortless so far, even with heavy snowfall. The plastic seems a little cheap, but I guess for the sake of weight I'm okay with it.
I've wanted a splitty for so long and was super stoked to see GNU come out with the amazing B-Pro board in the split. I've been riding the B-Pro 152 for the last 3 years and the split rides just as well for the most part. I can't complain for a second about its performance in pow. It's a bit squirly on hard pack "rollecoaster" exits that come with some of our runs in the Tetons but I think that's just the nature of riding a board that's cut in half :P
Can't say enough good things about this board. Woo hoo!
Teton views and sick lines thanks to my skins and split <3
These skins seem great so far! Had them for about 3 weeks. Climbed 3500 ft in them the other day in the Tetons with no issues and have been using them on lots of low angle skinning as well. I'm sure as my skinning ability improves I will be able to better assess their pros and cons. Lack of tail clip doesn't seem to be an issue yet.
I have a pair of Oakley pants from last year in a medium and they are huge on me so I figured a small would work. The thighs and butt were ridiculously tight and the waist was huge. Maybe I'm just too curvy for this style??
I'm a first time climber and these shoes work great. I have yet to try them outside, but love them in the gym so far. They don't smell as bad as people say (yet). I also love the color!
I got this harness so I could start climbing in the gym. I'm a true beginner and this package works perfect for me. Size it so it fits your waist best, but make sure it's big enough/small enough for your legs too.
I love these pants! I live in Jackson Hole so I'm out hiking all of the time. I am 5'4", 130 lbs and the size 6 fits perfect. The material has just enough stretch to give you that extra room when hiking or climbing. Super flattering zipped on or off. I definitely recommend these pants.
These pants are really cute but I returned them because I didn't like the material. I have really muscular quads and when I lifted my leg up while hiking they got really tight around that area. Like everyone else says, they run small so size up one. I just like pants with a little bit of stretch in the material.
Rode this board on a pow day in WA, while testing boards for a new website. It was definitely my favorite! The MTX makes it so you don't lose an edge on those icy traverses, and it floats like a champ in the pow! GNU got this one right!!
I think that the 6 cm of difference wont be that big for you, especially if you are an experienced rider. You should only be worried about the larger board if you have trouble swinging your board around as it is. See if you can borrow a friends board that is bigger and see how it feels. The only other company that i know that makes a splitboard is burton, but the smallest they run is a 162...Or you could try Prior or Venture Snowboards. They also make splits.
Just took my Avy I Cert class and got to try out my Ortovox D3. I was amazed at how fast I could find another buried beacon! Took me straight to it. Easy to read. The harness is a bit annoying as you have to have it strapped around you to turn it on, and if you don't want it on, you have to have a strap dangling from your waist. Also, it's hard to get close to the snow unless you adjust the waist strap.
