Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I love this sling. I have used both hip-pack and backpacks and I find a sling to be the most accessible and convenient option.
I have heard mixed reviews from fishing buddies about this sling. Some love it, others find it didn't fit quite right. Please note, you do have to dial in the straps to get a perfect fit. The sling is a bit stiff at first and may feel awkward, but I promise after a couple days on the water, it will feel great. I am 5'2" and did have to cut the straps to shorten them since there was so much excess. My buddy who is 6'5" borrowed it and it worked great for him.
This thing has the perfect amount of pockets and the main compartment can hold a lot of stuff. I really love that the front pocket has a fly keeper, it's great to throw flies on there and let them dry out before throwing them back into boxes.
I know I like to have a few drinks on the river. This thing can easily hold a few cans and the exterior drink pocked can hold a 32 oz Nalgene. There is a small pocket on the main sling strap that fits an iphone and has places to attach accessories. So much room for accessories on this bad boy!
Overall, this is a great sling for a day on the water. You can fit all your boxes and more inside and it sits well on your shoulder. Highly recommended!
