Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought this jacket fo my four-year-old (almost five - 42" tall, slim) , size small. Fits perfectly: sleeves a bit long, but that is no problem because velcro wrist tabs tailor the sleeve length. Jacket has enough room underneath for a thick fleece layer. Adjustable hood is another good feature. The jacket even has a powder skirt. Very smart-looking and well-made piece of clothing. Had no chance to test water/snow- proofness (an new word?) yet.

I like the shoes. It seems the comment that they run 1/2 size smaller is wrong, at least in my case. I feel that they are 1/2 larger than indicated. I normally wear US8, with Arroyos I think 71/2 would be perfect. Laces slip very little if at all. I figure if it becomes a problem, I'll use regular laces and tie them like I would regular shoes. OK, that will add 5 seconds to putting them on, so what? The grate thing is that it is possible to string normal laces through the loops where the original lace is strung. Another negative is sandal's weight. But I guess to be rugged terrain-worthy they must be hefty. Compared to hiking shoes they are still lighter, plus ventilation makes them much more comfortable than even low-top sneakers.

Elias, thanks. I currently ski on atomic TM-EX (168cm) and love it. If I remember correctly it has 24m turning radius and because of that it is a stable speed rocket. I can still do short turns and ski trees, but high speed stability in long turns is what i appreciate the most. I am looking for eventual replacement - that's why I asked about Kailas, because I want similar qualities in my ski.

In general, it is a good hat - impervious to wind. There are few issues I have about it, though:

1. Because of the wind membrane, it cuts down on hearing big time.
2. If very cold - one may need a liner beanie for layering/insulation.
3. On snowy days the stitched OR logo on the forehead leaks after a while. Nowhere else, but in that spot the water seeps in.
4. If working hard, it gets a bit wet on the inside due to poor breathability.
