Albert's Bio

I grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan in a small Michigan town. The Great Lakes are amazing but they don't have any mts. Thus I moved to Utah about two years ago and haven't regretted it since. I love to climb and snowboard the most. But do lots of mt biking, cycling, and backpacking. Surfing has been a small pass time and hopefully gets bigger in the future.

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is the warmest and also best constructed sleeping bag I have ever seen or used. Zippers work! Bit heavy as you're going to have with a quality -40 bag, but obviously built to perform and last a good while. Very happy with the bag and surprised how well it can pack if you really take your time. Have not tested the temp rating fully, but at 0 can be almost fully unzipped and still warm.

Arcteryx jacket- Ultralight, ultra packable, and pretty bomber exterior on this thing. Love the articulation, high quality construction and tight tolerances on stitching etc. Pretty minimalist, so if you want lots of pockets and/or bells look elsewhere. If you want light, tough, and fast this is it.

I'm not afraid to pad up these days, so I went with these. First pair of crash shorts I have owned. I like the removable plastic, does feel weird at first but eventually you get used to riding with them on. Should have got the L instead of XL, my fault though. They tend to ride down after awhile, which puts the tailbone pad out of place. All in all I like them, we'll see how they are for Downhill biking.

I've never had a pair of Darn Tough socks before, so I thought I would give them a try. First time on they feel exactly that, Darn Tough! These socks just feel like they are going to hold up for awhile. Wore them for two days all day for the first wearing and not any horrible odors forming. Day three was time to wash them. Going to keep my feet happy this winter and more to come!

All around great Jacket

I have used this jacket for warm weather snowboarding, cold weather snowboarding, going to the bar, going to the store, whatever. Love the look of it while having all the great properties of a nice soft shell. The hood is tight for a helmet, at least my Smith Vantage in L/XL. And I do wish it hand one internal pocket. Other than that, great buy!

These gloves are pretty sick. They are a bit thicker of a pipe glove, so they keep me warm on those colder days. The palms are SUPER sticky......Grab and tweak, grab and tweak. They also handle anything you are fumbling with on the chair without feeling like you are going to drop it into some lift line fresh.
