Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size

I'm 6' 0" and 155 lbs. I got the M and it fits great--slim enough to have a skin layer under. Great insulator for kicking around in 50-70 degree weather. Good in the 40s if you're active. I'd get a medium or heavyweight for winter activities, however.

Smartwool Merino is very soft and definitely repels odor. It's worth the price if you're serious about staying warm and dry. The antimicrobial qualities are what send this over the top.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought this as a throw-over to take away the chill of the summer breeze on a trip back home to Alaska. I was also interested in its ability to be useful in the city when it gets a bit damp out. I'm 6' 0" and 155 lbs (pretty lean) and got the small. It is snug around the chest but fells nice due to its stretch. It's the kind of fit I wanted.

It does a good job of beading up light rain and precipitation (definitely not suitable for breaking a downpour, however) and a great job of stopping the wind. Material is extremely stretchy and feels tough despite is thinness.

Note on fit: The waist is elastic and has a tendency to want to naturally rest at one's waist. If you are expecting this to stay around your hips, it will rid up as soon as you move around. The sleeves do not taper and are a bit boxy--it is not fitted at the wrist.

Overall, I think it's a really great jacket. It dries out quickly and is light and packs into itself. A very cool piece of tech gear that has everyday uses, too.
