Confidence booster
4 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I will admit that this tent is a bit on the heavy side but I always split my gear with my partner.

But recently, esp. for the summer, we just carry the stakes, the fly, and the poles. The fly provides adequate shelter in high alt. For low altitude areas, I can only imagine anybody who uses only the fly to be tortured by bugs and mosquitoes.

The poles and stakes are light and the fly looks pretty awesome when deployed. Kind of looks like a shelter for a colony on mars! lol

The vents help minimize condensation but they don't have a mesh to keep the bugs out but again, it's not a problem when use for high altitudes. I just wish they had some kind of screen if I ever used it in a forest.

In regards to weather, this tent can withstand it as long as you have it properly staked to the ground.

I have never gotten wet yet and the bathtub design gives me that confidence that I will still stay dry even when I set up in a puddle.

Familiarity: I gave it as a gift
Fit: True to size

I bought this for "her" after buying my own pair.

She actually first recommended this boot after trying it out at a store but thought it wasn't a necessity. I then bought mine to test her testinomial and she is right. Goretex, 4D chasis, and mudguards really help keep your feet in good shape on hikes. The boot feels good and is light that it makes me want to run in them. As a gift, I figured this will be great because she climbs as well.

It is not as light as the cosmic, but the extra weight helps justify it's durability.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought large for my GSD and it fits and works as stated.

The whole concept is simple but for the price, it's good.

The battery I have noticed can last a while if going out for daily 20 minute walks but the light does get weaker after week 2. However, in a dark area, the light is noticeable and my dog is still easy to spot in the darkness.

It is water resistant as I took my dog out during a storm and it never failed. I'm not sure about ocean swims though.

Finally, replacing the battery is not that hard. All you need is a screwdriver and a brain.

Fits good and feels good. Extra perks for being on the buff side so the ladies like it.

The capilene 1 is great for the summer but doesn't dry that fast in hot and humid places. However, for dry places like on high altitude mountains, this shirt dries super fast. I should have bought more.

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Never ever used poles, but it appears that maybe my knees could use a bit of help if I ever need them. I did a lot of research and ended up getting these because of its compactness due to its ability to Z fold. The ability to adjust 20 cm up or down is great for going up or down, or just lending them to a friend who is slightly taller or shorter.

The durability is yet to be tested but not surprised if they break because they are lightweight

Cool Boots!
4 5

I needed a new boot for work and heard this was the boot to have. The ID4 sale just persuaded me even more and bought them as soon as I saw sizes running out.

I have abused these boots as much as I can on all the climbs I did this summer. I give the mudguard an extra plus for keeping my boots and shins clean which I always get muddy on other boots!

Finally, just for the record... I would have given 5 stars but I discovered that there was a scratch on the lace locking element on the right boot. Gives me the impression that maybe someone used the boot so is it used??? Grrr!

Fortunately, it's just a scratch that I am sure won't fail on my climbs.

Also, for those wondering... the color autobahn as represented in the image is different.
