Description

The Pro-tec IPS Hip Pads make wiping out less painful.

Anyone who has learned to snowboard knows it can be a pain in the ass, literally. That's why Pro-tec makes the IPS Women's Hip Pads. The foam pads in this protective short take the brunt of hard falls, so you don't have to. These slim, protective shorts are barely noticeable under your riding pants, and the IPS Hip Pad's stretchy fabric breathes and feels good against your skin.

I only tried these on in the store and didn't make the purchase because of the insufficient padding. There're huge gaps in the butt padding, leaving me completely unprotected where I need it second to most (tailbone being first). After a one foot controlled fall on the carpeted store floor, I knew my these would not protect my tush.

I have worn these impact shorts for 1 year now. While my tailbone is somewhat protected, there are other bones in my butt that have absolutely no protection at all. Pro-tec does not do a good job placing the pads in the correct areas. There are wide gaps in between the pads, and this happens to be EXACTLY where my bone is. As a result, I have repeatedly bruised my butt in this exact location SEVERAL times while falling on ice. I don't think Pro-tec put enough effort into pad placement and where a person's major bones are.

I agree. I slipped on an icy spot 6 weeks ago and my tailbone is still sore! I am shopping for something else to replace these.

I'll echo what others have said. I bought a small for my wife, who wears and XS in some things and an S in others. The waistband was so tight she couldn't even bend over to strap on her board, and the legs were too loose and constant rode up. There were not comfortable for her at all. I'm sending them back and going to try something else.

The padding seems decent if you are the right size/shape for them to fit right.

the hip pads itself is good but the elastic band is super tight. it is really out of proportion. i got XS bc i am pretty tiny but now i have to exchange for a S but then everything else will be bigger too =(

I wear size 6 or 8 and I bought a Large. The waist band fits pretty tight, while the rest of meshy part of the short is a little baggy. They don't fit uniformly like spandex...but that is just fine because they don't fall down and they work awesome.
