Pros need handlebar choices. Take a look at the bike stable of any professional cycling team and you'll see a proliferation of bends to accommodate a number of riders with different positions and preferences. PRO uses the PLT line to offer up a handlebar for nearly any situation.
They start with double-butted AL-2014 tubes. They have an expanded 31.8mm center section but quickly taper down to the traditional bar diameter. The PLT Compact II is extra shallow and extra short -- 125mm of drop and 78mm of reach. It splits the difference between round and anatomic, with a curve that starts at a 50mm radius, and gradually becomes a 110mm radius at the bottom of the drops. It's easy to get your hand into a natural position in the drops, and the brake levers are never too far from reach. And perhaps the greatest benefit of the shallow drop, is that you will actually ride there because they're not too far away or too low to use comfortably.
The PRO PLT Handlebars have a 31.8mm clamp diameter. They're matte black anodized and come in four widths -- 38, 40, 42, and 44cm measured center-to-center. The bars are grooved for hidden cable routing, and they can be used with any 31.8mm stem without voiding the warranty. There is no rider weight limit, and Shimano says they can be used with clip-on aerobars.
