Description

You have to see it to believe it.

Backcountry skiers, hikers, climbers, backpackers, hunters, and tactical teams all trust the Princeton Tec EOS Headlamp to help them do their dirty work in the dark. And because Princeton Tec surrounded the single, high-powered, variable-beam LED in a durable, water-tight housing, so can you.

  • Single LED and a circular reflector produce an extremely bright, long-distance beam that uses minimal battery power
  • Choose between high, medium, low, and flash modes to best suit the activity and preserve battery life as needed
  • Super-small profile makes the EOS the ideal choice for weight-conscious hikers who require a great deal of visibility

Solid light

I got the EOS bike package (through princeton tec) it is 80 lumens and minus 10 lumens is exactly the same as this one except it comes with the bike mount and head strap. It is very reliable and durable: I've used it down to 5 degrees F in snow rain and even kayaking at night. My only complaints are that it is a bit heavier than my BD cosmo and that when using it on a bike is that there is no light coming out the sides which decreases my visibility to cars from the side. I like the idea of switching from handlebars to my head and am planning on bring it on a bike touring trip in July- update to come.

How is the battery life?

Responded on

The 80 lumen Eos gets me about an hour and a half on high and 12 hours on medium and it lasts forever on low.

Good Value

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Beem is a little too focused but it is bright.

Responded on

I agree that it isn't great for up close usage but perfect amount of focus/distance for biking and kayaking.

Best headlamp for your money

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I can't tell you how great this headlamp is, you'll have to buy it. It's been with me in below-freezing temperatures, and it's help me get out of pitch-black timber in North Idaho. This hunting season I didn't realize that I had dropped my EOS in the timber, until I found it 6 weeks later on the trail. It had been buried under snow at 4500 feet for 6 weeks, and still worked perfectly when I picked it up.

Like I said, this is the best headlamp for your money.

Perfect Package

The orange looks awesome and I LOVE how lightweight this headlamp is. Mine have always tended to be too heavy and bulky, making it difficult to stay on comfortably without constantly re-adjusting. Extra long burn time is definitely a plus! Worth the money for sure.

my first still going strong

got this as my first headlamp several years ago, and still use it. It is bulkier than some of my other newer ones but i use it for around the house and back up one for in the car. Headlamps can be used so much i have this one in my bag and use it whenever i need hands free light.

Decent

A middle of the road headlamp that produces 70 lumens on the high output setting. There are much brighter headlamps available but depending on the use they are sometimes overkill. This one is fairly lightweight and would make a fantastic backup or for someone that doesn't need to have 200 lumens for the intended task.

Good but not great

I have this lamp and my wife has the remix. I ended up liking hers a lot better. This one is heavier, the battery life was shorter and more difficult to use. Also you can angle the beam, but if you are running it has the tendency to fall out of place. But that being said, I have used it a lot, it holds up to my abuse, shines bright and has never let me down.
