Description

A burly, bright light for any activity or job that stretches into darkness.

Your thirst for the unknown draws you deep into pitch-black caves and moonless nights in the bush, but Princeton Tec’s 200-lumen Apex Headlamp lights the darkest moments so you can easily navigate and safely enjoy what’s around the corner. The Apex comes with a max burn time of 150hours and the brightest constellation of LEDs in Princeton Tec’s outdoor line to virtually turn night into day for early your morning skins, after-dark descents, and spelunking adventures.
  • Four Ultrabright LEDs and one Maxbright LED let you toggle between different wide and spotlight modes to accommodate everything from reading, camp lighting, to search and rescue
  • The rear battery pack and adjustable, over-the-top elastic headband provides a balanced fit for skiing, climbing, and countless other nighttime activities
  • Heatsink technology on the back of the lamp is a metal vent system that disperses the heat while you use the brightest setting so the Apex doesnt overheat (yes, LEDs can overheat )
  • The entire unit features Level 2 waterproofing, which means it will handle brief submersions under water but not at depth or for long periods of time
  • Maximum burn times: [5mm Blink] 200hr; [5mm Low] 150hr; [5mm High] 100hr; [Maxbright low] 96hr; [Maxbright high] 60hr
  • Maximum beam range: [5mm Low] more than 23m; [5mm High] 46.4m; [Maxbright low] 69m; [Maxbright high] 116m
  • Uses 4 AA Alkaline batteries (included), but can also use Lithium or NiHM rechargeable batteries (not included) to reduce weight and battery-acid waste in landfills
  • Slide-lock shape allows tool-free battery installation when you need to get into the battery housing on the fly

PTEC designs, engineers, manufactures and assembles our own products at our facilities in the great state of New Jersey, USA. The technology and products have evolved since we started in 1975. This is what the process looks like today.
After we made this video, it became that much more apparent that it takes a ton of energy, knowledge and skill to do what we do. What we do requires a fast pace and rapid mind. Hold on tight while this video takes you inside the brain of PTEC HQ.

This is a bright light, has several settings. I like the spot light option and the flood light option. Heavier to not be warn lightly but is worth bringing, took this overnight hiking one time and was not necessary for brightness and too heavy, Wore in the rain with no problems. Would buy again but not my daily use one.

This light is awesome and is rated at 200 lumens. It is bright enough to mountain bike and shines brightly. The downside it the weight, with 4AA batteries it is heavy and on the MTB it tends to bounce around because of the weight. If you can live with the almost 10 ounces it is a fantastic light. It is waterproof and the housing tilts for just the right angle of light.

Simply saying this headlamp is supper bright and i love it. The 200 is great for night skiing. The battery pack is not ideal but necessary for the burn time.
