Take the Primus Multifuel Stove backpacking, overseas, or both. This stove takes LP gas, gasoline, and kerosene, so you'll be able to cook dinner no matter where you are. This sturdy stove is lightweight and doesn't take up much room in your backpack. It has widely spaced legs and gripping pot supports for stability on uneven terrain. This stove comes with tools for cleaning and adjustments, a stuff sack for easy storage, and both a windscreen and heat reflector. The fuel canister is not included.

Bottom Line: Whether you're in Peru, China, or in the mountains near your home, the Primus Multifuel Stove will work on the fuel you can find or bring.

Excellent, but don't lose the top piece

This is an excellent stove. As others have mentioned, it is quite loud, but with a screen it can boil water very quickly. It is also reasonably light, although I have an MSR Dragonfly for my super light hikes.

there is a top deflector piece that just sort of "sits" on top of the stove. It is easy to remove, and easy to lose. the stove will not light correctly without it so be sure to hang onto it.

One Hot Cooker

I have used my Primus MFS in many different situations. Most recently on a winter snowshoe trip. It produces 10K + BTU's & is fairly lightweight & packable. I purposely didn't pack in any water so I could melt snow & test it under the most severe conditions. It worked great & was fuel efficient considering the task @ hand. Being a plate burner using liquid fuel under pressure, the only drawback was it's noise level. It sounds like a 747 @ take off. The gas canister mode is a bit easier on the ears.

Battle tested

Took this on a 1yr tour in Afghanistan. Not having to worry about having a specific fuel and the performance even at high altitude make this stove #1 in my book. I even burned Kerosene, sooty but it worked! Yes it is loud, a little sharp on the foot edges but I just wrapped it in a T-shirt which doubled as a cleaning cloth. A must have if you are in a 3rd world country!

Primus Multifuel Stove

This stove works great and is lightweight and powerful. Boils a liter of water in about 3 minutes and is adjustable to any size of flame for easy cooking when on the trail. With the butane mix fuel it is long lasting and clean burning, but still has the option for any fuel you can come across to get by if needed.

Great stove

Tested this stove on -16 C temps and it melted snow and boiled it fairly fast on primus fuel just takes a small ammount of time to stabilize the intensity of the flame .
On propane butane gas it worked well too but for that i use a lighter smaller stove .
Great all round burner for almost all fuel types possible .

loud but worth it

I purchased this stove due to the price. It works so much better than my pocket rocket it's unbelievable. However it is loud. I would recomend to anyone wanting a stable, adjustable, fast cooking stove.
