    A backpacking necessity.

A trip to the backcountry wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable without your morning coffee, afternoon tea break, and a hot meal to warm your innards at the end of the day, so you could say that the Primus Express TI Kit is a must-have item when you head to the hills. This sturdy set up comes with Primus' Express titanium stove and a one-liter pot. The simple and easy-to-use stove is equipped with lightweight titanium pot supports that will accommodate larger backpacking pots, but are still light enough to keep the weight of the stove down to just under three ounces.

    Simple & Light

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This stove is ideal for the entry level backpacker. Simple to use, small and packable. The pot can't hold very much, but would get the job done for one person boiling water. Still need a lighter to spark the stove (no sparker included). Comes in a nice little pack sack. I would recommend this product.

    Easy, Simple, Light

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I just started getting into backpacking last year and quickly learned the value of having a light cook kit. I have used the MSR pocket stove before and decided to get the Primus kit considering the value it offered and how similar they both were in operation. I have used it several times to heat water and I does so around the 3.5 min mark which seems pretty darn good. The titanium pot is also very convenient to have as part of the kit.

If you are looking for a deal on a light stove as your first purchase this is the one!

    Weight not as advertised

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

First, the weight of this stove is 11.7 oz. It's advertised weight of 7.3 oz is only the bare stove and bare pot. The wind deflector, stove sack, kit stuff sack with the stove and pot weighs 11.7 oz. The burner has a strong titanium stem and pot supports. For the price, this is a great value. I filled the pot to the brim with 1 L of water and it took 4 minutes to boil over (duh, me). I haven't tested it more. It's basic and lightweight. The simmer control is very very good. No canister legs or support. The wind break/shield attaches to the small diameter ring around the top of the canister. The pot isn't partially surrounded by the wind screen but the burner is.

    Weight not as advertised

I have used the item more. I have found that ti pots will pass through a lot of heat; more than other metal pots that are thicker. Meaning, you can get a small amount of water or small portion of food to heat very very quickly. Larger amounts, over half full, the heated contents at the base will cool quickly out the walls of the pot through conduction. It's the thin-wall design that causes this among the properties of the metal. I could cook lentil dish without sticking/burning controlling the heat. Not good for two people because of the heat loss. I'd set in some hot coals for two people.

    Awesome light stove kit!

This is a great backpacking stove kit.
It is really light weight AND has windcover . The little stove is super solid , with simmer to rocket blast flame ...!
The pot that comes with it is nice , the lid fits snug ,handles work good , but the pot scraches easy
