EtaPower Pot - 1.7L

Those crafty Swedes—they put a heat exchanger on the bottom of the Primus EtaPower 1.7L Pot to maximize efficiency and minimize boil times. In fact, Primus claims the EtaPower 1.7L Pot will make your stove 50% faster and more efficient—no matter what kind of LP gas or multifuel stove you have. And we won't even talk about boiling times if you have the EtaPower Stove—we're talking lightning fast. Primus gave this lightweight aluminum pot a non-stick titanium coating, and included a handle and lid.

Bottom Line: Damn! It's boiling already?

Your Dragonfly will fit inside this pot but make sure it is in the storage sack, plastic zip lock bag, etc. This will not only protect the pot's non-stick coating but also keep carbon deposits & gas smells off the surface.

my do everything titanium pot

By:

non stick surface, lightweight titanium, large solo cooking pot. I built my own kit based on this setup and run a denatured alcohol stove under this pot. The heat exchanger works great, and decreased boil times. The non-stick has held up fine, but seems like its pretty thin, but all non-stick surfaces go with time too and I wouldn't want a real thick coat on here anyway. The handle is a nicely fitted accessory too.

Will this pot be okay for open fire boiling? I'd like to

Will this pot be okay for open fire boiling? I'd like to build a fire and place a pot above/on the flame to boil my water.. will this work for what open fire?

I would agree with Jeff that you could use this on an open fire, but there are better options as far as pots go that would be more practical for open flame cooking.

This pot is designed to be used with a stove & since there are no plastic parts involved, it will work over an open fire. I would however suggest an inexpensive, aluminum pot instead. Not as sophisticated, more practical, the same weight, & less $.

Great...but apparently bendable

By:
June 18, 2009

I got this just prior to entering the BWCA for 5 days. It boiled water VERY quickly, in about 33% less time than the 'regular' camp pot I used to use. The handle is slick, lid sits sturdily atop, and the pot's coating is truly non-stick. BUT...it was near the bottom of my canoe pack on the trip out and on its side. By the time I got home to unpack, it was, well, more oval shaped than round. Never really considered that compression straps on my canoe pack and/or the weight of what was on top of it may bend it. It's so soft that I was able to bend it back easily to 'nearly' round... Now the lid (which did not bend) fits too tight to get it off safely. Yes, I'd still recommend buying this pot, but I'll be much more careful packing it from now on.

AHMEN!

Wow..This is made from magic. It really will bring water to a boil in about half the time..if not less of what you used to have. With my monster can stoves using heet as fuel I can boil half a liter in about a minute on my whisperlite it's amazingly fast also I love this thing.

Here's the bottom. The heat exchanger is pretty good. Your typical 3-prong stove fits in the ridges and keeps the pot from sliding around.

According to Primus's website the weight of this 1.7L pot

According to Primus's website the weight of this 1.7L pot is 12.2 oz. It was unclear if the handle weight was included in this figure.

Seems unlikely that the handle alone would weigh 5 ounces. Maybe a different model year?
