The prAna Women's Tenaya Pants have a semi-fitted cut that hugs your hips while giving your legs room to move. Wear the Tenaya Pants to work or on a low-key hike—a small amount of spandex mixed in with the nylon fabric adds a bit of stretch so you're not goose-stepping around. Stash your keys in these prAna pants' cargo pocket.
Bottom Line: The prAna Tenaya Pants see you through mountains of paperwork at the office and mountain trails out your backdoor.
I wear an 8 in just about every maker's pants & because of Hip-Waist ratio, often have trouble finding pants with small enough waist in my size - the cincher belt integrated with the pant was the key to these fitting. Which they do, as I don't mind a little rear-waistband puckering since the front is flat. However. the way Prana splits 8 & 10 (usually a medium is an "8-10") I'm a "Large" so it took me two tries to get my size by mail. The length is good in the large, the medium a little short but looks acceptable with hiking footwear. The fabric is thicker than anticipated - feels sturdy and canvasy, yet flexi because of the stretch. But I wouldn't want to wear these hiking in the desert/SoCal chaparral trails. Will have to wait till the wildfires die down anyway before taking them on a trail test.
I love these stretch nylon pants. The adjustable waist is so convenient, both for sports (no problem under a climbing harness) and for style (no muffin top!). Great for ascending a tough route or for wearing out to dinner in town. My only complaint is size inconsistency. I tried these on at a retail store, then ordered the same size online, but the pair that I received were way too small.

they are actually figure flattering as far a cargo pants go, and the stretch is really great for physical activity while wearing them. The fabric is ruffer in texture than i expected, but they are still awesome pants, i got two pairs.
As outdoorsy pants go, these are about as good as it gets. The long length worked well on my 5'10" body, and the stretch in the pants allowed me to move without hostility. (I hate pants that have no stretch in them). The only thing that could have been just a little better would be for the material to be a little softer. Still, since these are the only ones that have ever worked for me, I'll probably order more in other colors.
not long enough to drag, even with chacos. not short enough to see sock. they give with your stride so they don't bunch up or ride poorly. hiked several days in them, wear them around town. smooth feel, gorgeous look - these pants have earned a permanent place in my pack.
These pants fit like a glove. Lots of stretch, and so extremely comfortable I ended up sleeping in them the first day I wore them. Only reason for the 4 star is you definitely need to hem them. I'm 5'8" and they were dragging on the floor. Still worth it since a simple hem is cheap and easy. I just got another pair in a different color.
I agree completely - these are the only pants I love for climbing, but I am 5'4" and had to hem them. I only wish Prana would offer their pants in different lengths. It would also be great if they made this in shorts - I've been searching for a great pair of knee-length climbing shorts.
Versatile, rugged, stretchy... These pants have the ability to be dressed up or dressed down. I love the color too; it's very different from the rest of my pants. Just wish it had belt loops and yes, the material could have been a bit softer.
I have a pair of similar PraNa pants that I purchased in 2005 that are still performing well. They have a snap closing instead of the button on these new ones which is difficult to open and close. The seams have shrunk a little so they have to be pressed out of the dryer which was also not a problem with previous pants. But even though, I will continue to purchase PraNa pants since they fit like a glove and stretch with my body. I love them.
Way too long, unless you're 5'10. I have long legs and usually the opposite problem.. will have to hem these which may spoil the look as the current hem is finished. For the price, why not offer different inseam lengths, and real sizes instead of small, medium, large, xlarge? Also the pant leg is rather wide for my taste. On the plus side, the pants seem well made and the fabric is lightweight.
These pants fit great, and are just long enough for me (I'm 5'10")! The material is really lightweight and comfortable, with just the right amount of 'give' without stretching out. I wish they had more color choices though - I bought the blue, and my only complaint is that my husband says it's the color blue of mechanic pants! Size small is probably about a size 6.
I was psyched to find pants that have a long enough inseam at size 4. They are a 31" inseam, which is a tiny bit shorter than I'd like (32" would be better, but I'll never find that in the smaller women's sizes), but the "tall" sizes tend to be an inch too long. While I can't seem to win, these at least work without making me look like a dork with my socks showing. True to size, great fit, nice stretch!
Couldn't ask for anything more in a pair of pants for hiking. They are durable, breathable and functional while not looking quite so utilitarian (read: tough and feminine at the same time). When I'm not hiking I wear them in lieu of jeans or cargo pants for running errands. I have three pair in stone, and wish that they came in an alternate color (I don't particularly care for the blue).
i got these pants for a ten day 100 mile backpacking trip through the mountains of Maine. I wore them every day and they held up wonderfully and look great. They move with you, just enough stretch. They are quick drying and lightweight. I love the length (i'm 5'9" 180lbs and ordered an xl ). They are a bit droopy when soaking wet and / or muddy from the knee down but what pants wouldn't be. The waist band is flat with no belt loops to get hung up under a hip belt the buckle in the front slipped on me a few times making things a bit loose. That is the only tiny thing that wasn't perfect. The only thing i might want to suggest to prana is bigger cargo pockets on both sides as its hard to get to the top and back ones with a backpack on. other wise these are top of the line.
These pants are so comfortable I own a few pairs. I wear them for casual wear and when I am teaching. They are a little long for me but the comfort outweighs the length which can be fixed.
These pants were long and baggy. I am 128lbs. and 5'4". I wasn't sure whether I would be a small or medium, so being the experienced online shopper that I am, I bought both. After trying on the small, there was no need to bother with the medium. These pants had a comfortable feel in the legs except that they hung on the floor. The rise came to my natural waist, which I am not a big fan of. Not only that but there seemed to be a "pooch" of fabric around the tummy area that I didn't like. They looked like boys pants on me. Not very flattering. I am an outdoor girl. I like comfort without sacrificing too much cuteness. These didn't do the trick for me. I sent them back.
After having purchased other Prana pants, I was really looking forward to getting these. Too bad they run so big. I have another pair of Pranas in a Med. which fit very nicely and so I ordered these in a Medium as well. They were huge! No smalls available so I will have to do without these great pants. ARGGH!!!
This is a great mid weight, slimming pant. The fabric is really comfortable and stretches with your every move whether you are hiking or hanging out. It does fit slim in the hips and has a nice slimming leg line. I would love it if Prana would make this pant in more colors and also in a capri version. They do make it in shorts which are my favorite shorts ever. Highly recommend both the pants and the shorts. I will be hiking in the pants this fall for sure...and they will be stretching with me every step. The x-small fits a 0-2.
These are by far the best hiking pants I have ever owned. I have tried most of the big name clothing manufacturers, and they do not come close to the fit and feel of the prAna Tenaya pants. They fit like a glove and stretch like tights for difficult climbs. The waist is just the right height to allow a pack to ride comfortably. The fabric dries very quickly and is not heavy when wet. (I went swimming in them... it was really hot that day) I wore them 5 days in a row and washed them out every night. They held up beautifully to the abuse I put them through and still made my "rear view" look great.
These are the most comfortable all around pants. They look great on and can be worn every day, but are also perfect for hiking with the stretchy but tough fabric. The only improvement would be more pockets! Thanks to Prana for finally making their pants with longer inseams!
These are great multi-purpose athletic pants. I bought them for hiking, & they are great for uphill climbs: they stretch readily & don't restrict your motion, and could also be used for rock climbing. I also use them for yoga when I travel. I have worn them with stretch Capilene underneath (they still look good & fit/stretch well with the extra layer), and have also worn the Capilene + prana pants under snowboarding pants, with no restricted motion -- I wouldn't have known I had so many layers on except that I was warm. They're great for travel, since you can just pack one pair of athletic pants, and they're flattering so you wouldn't feel silly wearing them for non-athletic purposes. They wick moisture well & dry quickly.
I am very pleased with this pair of pants. I tried it on and it was so incredibly comfortable. My inseam is about 27" so I had to get it altered. I performed my usual movement tests and it passed with flying colors. I like that it's durable since I rough up all of my climbing pants. It looks good enough that you can wear it on the weekends to run errands. Highly recommend these pants.
I havent actually hiked in the pants yet, but can tell they will be perfect. I probably wouldnt wear them for anything else because the material is thin and somewhat transparent in the latte. I normally wear a size 6 or 8 and got the medium. They are a little too big, but I dont know if the small would fit. The length is long.
There are 3 things I demand from my gear - comfort, style and function. These fit the bill. I'm a girl, I like to look good even when I'm 1000 miles from nowhere. I totally recommend these, I have two pairs.
I wear an 8 in just about every maker's pants & because of Hip-Waist ratio, often have trouble finding pants with small enough waist in my size more...
I love these stretch nylon pants. The adjustable waist is so convenient, both for sports (no problem under a climbing harness) and for style (no muffin more...
