10 out of 10

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Unbelievable pants, they fit long enough for my 6'7 stature and perform beyond anything i was expecting. They have held out for two summers for me now and I cant complain.

Best all around shorts!

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The title says it all! They excel in climbing! You can heel hook super high, do the splits,or get up some good scrambling without even realizing you are wearing them. I slid about 20 feet on my side down a slab (icy conditions on Taquitz rock caused me to slip) and there is quite literally not a scratch on them. I plan on getting the convertible pants as well now. They also dry super fast, and can keep you warm enough.

I'm about 6 foot and around 180-190 pounds, athletic build. The mediums fit me perfectly. I had the larges first but they were a little big and baggy.

The Best!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These shorts are Top Notch, like Danny winning the caddy tournament! Can't go wrong w/ these, very comfortable, great length, fit true to size, and the freedom of movement is unmatched. I have had other stretchy pants that would pill up after awhile but these seem to be holding up! "Sometimes, when you are a man, you wear stretchy pants; it is for fun!"

Cool and Comfortable

These shorts are my go-to choice for scalding hot Utah days when I want the lightest, most-comfortable thing I can get my hand on. Essentially, if I'm wearing shorts while climbing, I'm wearing these shorts.

Lesser shorts should take note

This is the first Prana item I ever bought and I flat out love these shorts. These are my go-to shorts for everything, chilling, camping, hiking, and I will try rock climbing in them this week. They're super comfy and great for hot weather. I really love the stretchy material and all around comfort. I'm 6'1" and 180 lbs and I got the size large and they fit great. I would highly recommend and I won't hesitate to buy more Prana clothes, especially at Backcountry prices.

The King of all Shorts

Back in 2010, in a local gear shop, a lone pair of Stretch Zion shorts hung on the clearance rack. I tried them on and that was it.

The last two years, 95% of the time, I wear the Stretch Zion short. My only beef is that I prefered the metal buckle version and the previous, stretchier fabric for the short than is currently being used now, but I do prefer the pocket configuration of the updated version.

I'm a bigger guy, the XXL fits perfectly and gives me plenty of mobility to do anything I want. I've biked with these over the padded shorts, I've hiked, I've even swam. Paired with Stoic's exemplary merino boxer brief or the ExOfficials Give and Go boxer brief, they keep me cool and dry.

Best got better.

These are my favorite shorts hands down. I own five pair. The changes they made are all great in my opinion. I keep my wallet in my left pocket if there is one, so I was happy about the addition of a second rear pocket. Also, I like the belt loops and plastic buckle on the new version of these shorts.

No other short will do

I love these shorts and own multiple pairs. I am a 32/33 waist and the medium fits great. Perfect amount of stretch for any activity.

My go-to shorts...

I'm 5'10" 180lbs 31" waist. I wanted a short that gave me the flexibility and comfort of an athletic short with the utility, durability, and appearance of cargo short. The medium fit the bill darn near perfectly. A problem I kept finding with other shorts (even nice hiking/climbing shorts) was that they restricted my movement far too much, especially on routes where high feet are required. I basically needed a 32" in the waist but a 34" through the legs in order to get he flexibility I wanted. The stretch solved my problem, providing an awesome range of motion. I love the built in belt because it allows me to comfortably wear my backpacking pack without a belt digging into my hips. I cannot yet speak to their durability, and they're obviously not as durable as thick canvas short, but for me the comfort, flexibility, and utility afforded by them far outweighs "durability"--they're shorts, not combat pants. I ordered two pairs first then after a week of adventuring I ordered another two. I was that sold on them. I wear them around town and to the crag. Just awesome.

Nice shorts, run big

Really nice shorts. Good material. Like the length but the waist is huge. I thought they may have sent an XL instead of an L as the waist is closer to a 36+ than a 33-34. Recommended but be careful about sizing.

5 5

one word COMFORT

I dig most prana clothing these included. They are super light and have all the stretch you need. A bit longer than I normally wear, all he way to the knees on me

excellent

great fit for my body type (6'1", 175 lbs, ~33-34" waist). size medium fits me perfectly. good construction. light weight. breathe well, slight stretch. can't speak to durability yet. i will buy these again and would definitely recommend them to others.

4th pair

I've bought my 4th pair, a few more and I can wear one everyday of the week, well.. I already do.
Great fit. I wear these for everything I do. The spandex is great if you are active. Older versions had two cargo pockets, but I dig this new style. 6' 220, bought the xl. Adjustable belt with the built-in feature.

Unless you are weird, you'll love these.

I looked at many shorts trying to find a pair for climbing that would be long, work with a harness, etc. These are absolutely perfect. They stretch and don't ride up. They are comfortable with a harness. I bought them to climb in; however, they are now my favorite all around shorts. Might be the most comfortable shorts in the world due to the fit and stretchyness. I'm 5'11", 180lbs, 34" waist. I tried M and L. The Large felt better. built in belt + loops if I want to sinch. Buy these shorts! Unless you're weird, or don't like comfort, you'll love them.

Awesome shorts.

Love these shorts. Fit great and are made of a nice stretchy material that moves well. Love the built-in belt. Material feels great in hot weather and is not too hot.
Only negative imo is the side pocket. Too far down on the leg for me.
Otherwise a perfect product.

End up living in these

Fit well, dry fast. I have a couple pairs.

Great all around shorts!

These shorts fit great! I use them from mountain biking, hiking, camping, and everyday use. Fit is right on the money but the adjusted waist belt helps so no need for a belt. Great shorts and I will probably get another pair.

5 5

Stop looking

You don't need another pair of shorts. Just buy one in every color. I don't wear anything else. Perfect fit for the casual/active lifestyle. bike, climb, longboard, camp, hike, family parties, bar hopping, concerts.
This years has one less pocket than last years, but they fit so well that I won't complain.
