I've been SO pleased with these pants. Everyone else pretty much nailed it. They are ridiculously comfortable, lightweight, stretchy, and super versatile. Given the above, it is also such a pleasant surprise to see how durable they are. I used my first pair for everything from hiking and climbing to wearing around town and to work. Since then, I purchased two more pairs. All around awesome pants for whatever your endeavor may be - from big climbs on beautiful or less than beautiful days to Netflix binges when the weather isn't right.

I ordered a couple to try out the size. Both arrived a bit late, more of UPS issue due to bad weather conditions. Both are way too baggy. If you are big built person, these are perfect for you. Not for me; skinny legs.

Fell in love with a pair of Zion shorts earlier in the spring and shortly thereafter picked up the Zion Pants. I've had a pair of these pants for several months now and as soon as I wash them, I find myself pulling them out of the dryer and putting them back on. They are great on the trail, running around town, casual Fridays, having a pint a the pub or lounging on the couch.

I have been pleased with all Prana stuff I have bought, and when the wife suggested I pick up another pair to give my current ones a break, I went ahead and got 3 more in an assortment of colors.

Do yourself a favor and pick up a pair of these.

I absolutely love these pants. I probably wear them 2 - 3 times a week. Unless I hike in them. That would be unhygienic. I have bushwacked the mountains of Costa Rica with these things more than a dozen times and they dont have even the slightest stitch or tear in them. They are durable, lightweight, stretchy, and by far the most comfortable pants I own. My only quarrel is that I didn't purchase more of them. Worth the price by far. If you can get them on sale, buy 3.

    Prana Stretch Zion Pant

I set out to find the best hiking pants. I was informed by multiple sources that the Prana Stretch Zion was a contender. I was incredibly skeptical at first. Prana? If I get these pants do I have to wear a hemp necklace, grow dreadlocks, and constantly worry about making sure I don't assume somebody's gender? Well, maybe. And maybe it's worth it, because these pants are incredibly comfortable and durable, yet lightweight. And more importantly, they aren't shaped like skinny jeans. I not only wear these pants for kicking you know what, but I also wear them for the taking names portion. Versatility, check.

Excellent pant, and the amount of stretch is perfect. I have used them in warm sunny weather, and with some silk longies and they have been ultra-comfy in both extremes. The waist adjuster is top notch, and the cuff retainer is a nice touch that helps vent. They even look cool enough to wear out as a regular pair of casual pants.

The only downside is a big one: pockets -- not enough of them, and the ones there are not big enough.

    Almost perfect!

I now own 4 pairs of these. I wear them to work in a business casual environment everyday. They come with me every time I climb. I wear them all weekend. I just went home to visit family for the holidays and they are all I packed. These are NEARLY perfect.

    Fit:
They fit as expected on the waist and inseam measurement. I went with a 36x36 because I like baggy fitting pants. They stretch like gym shorts but look like normal pants!

    Function:
These are nearly perfect as I said. Always look new. Stretch more than gym shorts. Dry within hours of taking out of the wash machine. Nice deep pockets If these has a draw cord at the bottom I would never buy another pair of pants. They do roll up but not all of us appreciate having to wear capris in order to climb; or avoid walking on them when not wearing shoes.

    Look:
Great looking pants. They are baggy just like I enjoy pants. I wear them in a business casual workplace every single day. I wish they had more vibrant colors for the weekends! I love colors.

    Summary
Absolutely recommend. I own 4 pairs!

Prana if you read these: Add a draw cord at the bottom and get more colors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Caution, you won't want to take them off

I finally buckled and bought these pants because of all the highly rated reviews and because it seems like everyone around the office rocks prana pants. I am glad I listened to everyone who suggested I buy these because they are great! If you rock climb they are a must. The zipper for the fly isn't very long but that really is the only complaint I have and that is a weak complaint because it really doesn't inconvenience my life that much. I love the stretchiness to the pants and how durable the are! I have used these climbing out side and hiking with falls on rough ground and they help up just fine. The built in adjustable strap is next level, I really enjoy this feature. Overall I think it would be pretty hard to be disappointed with these pants.

Hands down the most comfortable pair of pants I've ever owned. They dry fast, are soft, stretchy, and good looking. I'll take another pair...or four. Only criticism is they are soooo expensive, but def worth it.

    These are the best

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are awesome. You will send like a god if you wear them. In all seriousness though the stretch feels great. They aren't very stylish, but that's not why your wearing them.

More comfortable than khaki's and you won't scrape up your knees. I can't speak for durability yet.

    Soooo comfortable!

Pants were great! Resisted rain, totally breathable when trudging up the hills, moved with my body extremely well. Will probably not use the 'cuff snaps'; too low on the leg to do any real good. Hoping they last longer than the Kuhl pants I purchased last year...holes and rips in the already. Main reason I tried Prana's.

    Comfy and versatile!

This pant is my new go-to. The stretch is very comfortable! They are quick-to-dry and repel light amounts of water. The roll-up feature was great when I was picking sea shells. I will be getting more of these in a few colors.

    Amazing Pants!

I bought these for a fall trip to the Allegheny mountains. I originally purchased the Marmot Scree Softshell pants and Berghaus Fast Hike pant but settled on the Prana Zion pant based on fit and comfort. I was absolutely thrilled with their performance! Whether I was hiking, climbing, wearing them beneath my neoprene fishing waders, or just relaxing in front of the campfire; they were ultra-comfortable, flexible and breathable. I'm absolutely going to buy another pair!

Really True to size. The pants have more of a boot cut at the bottom. The material is a perfect weight for a huge range of uses. They are breathable, have a nice stretch, and durable.

    Unanswered Question

    Hi,

I bought a pair in size S/32 a year ago and they fit perfectly. Would a 31/32 be a comparable fit after the change to numerical sizing? Also, is it true that they changed the fit to be baggier in the legs as another reviewer mentioned?
    Hope not, they were perfect...

Last year I bought Prana stretch zion pants with size M 32. but I noticed Prana Pants size system changed. So I wonder which size one I shoud choose for me. 32x 32 or 33 x 32?

Hey Bumtae - Prana did change their sizing for this year. I have an old L-34 and the 34x34 fit me best in the new Stretch Zions. There is still the adjustment strap in the waist so maybe the 33x32 will be best for you. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.

I want to get my husband a pair of these. As long as I've known him, he's been 32x32 (medium) in every brand and everything, but Prana's size chart leads me to believe he'd need a small (waist size "30"). Can anyone verify or clarify this? He usually wears his pants a bit tight, but this might be due to his soccer player build.

I guess I'm wondering if all the reviewers who say it fits "true to size" mean according to Prana's size chart, or according to their normal size...these are obviously different.

What does the number indicate after the letter? Is that the inseam or waist? i.e. a S-30 will get me a waist of 32 but a length of 30 and a S-32 will get me a 32/32?

Any ladies out there that rock these for climbing (or otherwise?) I'm in the market for some climbing pants, not partial to mens clothes, but here they are, and one sale. .. men's prana has fit me in the past, just curious about ladies experience with these pants. thanks!

    Best Answer

Yes, I wear both the pants and shorts and love them! The shorts do look a little like you're wearing men's pants (they sometimes get some weird bunching in the front when I sit down) but I don't care because they're so comfortable and functional. I have a muscular posterior and can't stand women's pants that are so low rise. FYI, I'm 5'4" and wear a women's large in most pants, and the M-30 fits well...just a little long, so I roll them up a little.

I'm a short guy that typically wears a 28"-29" inseam. What are my options here, cuff the bottoms of a pair of 30"?

    Hi Raymond,

the 30" inseam is the shortest for the Stretch Zion Pant. I know a few people in your situation that have used a few different options. First you can always spend $10-$20 and get them professionally hemmed. Second option would be to buy some hem tape. There is either the iron on version or the super sticky version. Usually about $5.

I want to buy these for my husband but how can you tell which inseam is which? He is a 32X30

Hi, these look great for my boyfriend who enjoys camping and climbing. He's 5'8, 135 pounds, 30" waist. Which size should I order?? thanks!

The small will definitely be on the looser/baggier side; I'm 5'11, 155 and a size small feels a touch loose on me. My boyfriend who's about the same dimensions as yours wears an extra-small and they fit him really nicely. Remember, these are stretchy. Hope this helps.

Is it possible to find the claimed weight of this pants?

    I'm a 33 waist 32 length. 6'0'' 200lbs. What would you recommend for sizing?

Are any of the pockets zippered and if so, which ones? Is the belt removable?

    Best Answer

    Hey!

So the cargo pocket on the left thigh has a zippered pocket. Zippered on top and on side for dual access.

    The belt is non-removable.

Does Prana make pants like this for ladies? A comparable pant?

I'm 5'9' 140 lbs, what size should I get? Pretty consistently a waist 32 across other brands. Sounds like prana has been changing up the sizing. My older prana pants from ~2005 say M on the tag, and I think it was either 32 or 30 inseam....they fit very well.
