Great pants

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought these for an extended trip with no access to laundry. I washed them in sinks and streams, they dry quickly, are comfortable and don't sound too much like nylon when I'm walking (very slight sound). They worked fine thru a variety of climates, at first I thought the leg 'roll up snaps' were a bit goofy but I have grown to love them.been wearing them regularly since the trip and they hold up well and are very comfortable. They look good enough for working with clients.

My favorite pants.

Other reviews on here hit the nail on the head. These pants are stretchy (but don't look like it), ridiculously comfortable, weather-resistant, WATER resistant (I slid on my butt down a snowy slope on Mt. St. Helen's and had a surprisingly dry ass afterwards!), look great, and feel great. These are my favorite pants, bar none. I couldn't recommend these highly enough.

ONE word of warning: these run LONG. Usually with pants, I need a 32" inseam. In the case of these pants, I was stepping on them. I exchanged for 30" and they're perfect.

Love these!

Quite happy with these! I'm 5'10" 180 lbs and purchased the M-32L - a bit long in the legs but can roll them up easily. The material is great - soft, stretchy, and quite durable. I wore them for a week straight bushwacking in Alaska through some of the thickest brush and Devil's Club that I can imagine and there was absolutely no damage to the paints. The photo shows us sledding on our butts down the side of a mountain and again, no damage or moisture issues at all. My only complaint is that in the first couple of days after purchasing them I had some seams "break" (thread is hanging loose but no hole in the pants) on the seam around the thigh - just wearing them around the house. Nonetheless, I wear them all the time! Light, quick drying (I'd say water proof because I never noticed it when they were wet). Also, I wish the pockets all had zippers.

Love these!

Super Duper!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The prAna Stretch Zion Pant is pretty much my favorite climbing/hiking pant. These things are awesome. Super lightweight stretchy material makes any movement super easy, and if they get wet the material dries very quickly. They also have some pretty cool features like a built in belt cinch and when your roll up the pant legs for climbing they have built in buttons to hold them up. They also have nice deep pockets, so you aren't always wondering of your keys have fallen out every time you sit down. These are awesome pants and you should definitely try a pair out. They fit true to size as well!

Awesome climbing pants

Just got a new pair of these for fall climbing and I couldn't be more psyched. Super stretchy and really durable. The buckle on the waist is great for fine tuning the fit. Just climbed a few routes in the Black Canyon it was super hot out but I was comfortable in these pants.

Amazing Pant

These pants are great; comfortable breathable, and so far durable. They are plenty roomy so don't be tempted to get the bigger size.

Go-to pants

These are my go-to pants for nearly every day of climbing. They're light enough to use in warm weather and stretchy enough that they're never in the way whether you're stemming up a dihedral or thrashing through an offwidth. Basically, they rock.

Perfect Pants? YES!!!

I got a pair of these because I needed something that would roll up and stay up, the snaps do that perfectly. I was surprised though when I first put them on, they are by far the most comfortable pants I've ever worn! Super stretchy and durable, I've used them for climbing and hiking, they still look like they did the day I bought them. They are so comfy that I find myself wearing them all the time, so much so that I just bought the other 2 colors!

They don't show it in any pics but the leg cargo pocket has 2 zippers, one on top and one in the front of the pocket, this is a great design because when I'm in the car and want to access the pocket I don't have to worry about anything falling out because the front zipper is now on top!

I am looking for a good pair of pants to wear hiking in the mountains during the summer months, when its in the 30's at night and upper 70's during the day. Does anyone have any experience using these pants for that? thanks in advance

You might get a little hot in the day hiking in these, they're slightly warm, but they breathe really well. They're awesome pants though, especially if you're doing any scrambling/climbing during your hikes.

I think these would be perfect for you. The nylon makes them super durable, the stretch makes them really comfotable and easy to high step in. If you get a little warm they do have snaps on the leg so you can roll them up.

crazy light weight

Put my Gerber in my pocket and man, I think that little guy is heavier then the pants! I've been wearing the prana axiom jeans nonstop, but wow! Huge weight difference, cant wait to boulder in these.

Perfect 3-season climbing pants

Paired with some long underwear, you're good to go for a range of conditions and temperatures. These pants are breathable, stretchy, lightweight, highly water resistant, and they look great.

I'm 6'0, 33/34" waist, 185 lbs. The size large - 32" inseam fits perfect.

I just purchased another pair.

Absolute favorite Pants!

I love these so much that I bought two pairs plus the convertible version. Most comfortable pant I own and great for climbing and hiking or anything else really. An understated feature about the Zion pants is the 3M coating that is applied to the fabric that really helps keep stains off. I've spilled soup and other stuff on myself and it just beads off, pretty amazing.

A few differences between the convertible pants and regular stretch Zion Pants:

The convertible pants have two zip cargo pockets, while the regular pants only have one. Also, the convertible pants are much baggier than the regular version, I'm not sure why this is, I kind of like the fit of the regular pants better.

The final thing is that I noticed a few comments about the inseam being pretty long. This is true, but an easy fix since there is no zipper at the ankle, you can just bring them to a place to have them hemmed to the correct length. You can't do that if there is a zipper at the bottom of the pant leg.

The most comfortable pants I own.

Purchased these pants after reading countless reviews with everyone giving these pants two thumbs up. I live in Florida, so I wanted a pant that I could wear year round here and also feel comfortable in the northern states. Coming from someone who almost always wears shorts, these are probably the most comfortable pair of pants I have ever worn. The material of the pant itself is very durable and won't tear when brushed against rocks and underbrush. I really liked the roll up pant snaps on each leg, though they don't roll up extremely uniformly. Finding myself almost always wearing them like this because for me the sizing seemed to run big. I am 5'11" and I usually wear a M short with about a 32" inseam. If you like a snugger fit, I would size down, at least in the waist as the short has a built in adjustment strap and they are super stretchy! All in all a great pant. I may buy another pair..smaller.

Best Pants Ever!

Bought these pants to do some hiking with this summer. Absolutely love them. At first I thought the pants were going to be kind of tight, but as I wore them they started to stretch out some. The pants kept me super cool, got a little wet and the water just ran right off. Did some slot canyon hiking and with all the climbing over rocks the pants still look brand new. Planning on buying a second pair.

Awesome pants

These are great pants for pretty much any outdoor activity. I have done a lot of climbing in them and they stretch enough and breath really well. They size a little big. I wear a 30 30 in normal pants and got a small in these and they are really loose and a little long. The strap allows me to tighten them just enough and the roll up snaps make it so its not a problem for climbing.

Overall great pants, will probably buy another pair.

Great pant! I bought these after having a TNF pair for a while, these were definitely better! They conform to your movements and are extremely durable. I'd recommend them to everyone.

zomg...awesome pant

By far the most comfortable pants next to sweatpants. the material is great, has a TON of stretch and has meshed pockets to aid in ventilation. Can't wait to see how they do on Mt. Kinabalu!

I'm normally a size 30x32 to 32x32 (5'11" - 180, athletic build) depending on the brand, I ordered a medium 32 and found them to be really loose in the waist (probably could have gotten away with a small); however, the synching belt takes care of that and leaves room for movement. If your shape resembles a twig, follow the sizing chart.
