Description

Who says "climbing" pants aren't acceptable for the workplace?

There's nothing worse than having to cut your lunchtime bouldering break short on both ends because you have to change pants. That's why Prana made the Men's Saxton Pants that can go from work, to climbing, and back again, looking good all along the way. The stretch corduroy material is perfect for that high-step move you couldn't quite get before, while the gusseted crotch gives you even more range of movement. When you're wearing these pants, if you can't reach for a move, it's definitely not the pants.

  • Cotton and spandex blend
  • 4-way stretch fabric
  • Regular fit
  • 5-pocket style
  • Gusseted crotch

Thanks to Backcountry.com and prAna for selecting me and giving me the opportunity to test the Saxton pant, and then tell you backcountry.com peeps all about it.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t really think I’d ever stray from my beloved prAna Bronson pants, but dare I say, these are better…
The Saxton pant has everything I love about the Bronson pant, gusseted crotch, a hint of spandex, burley construction, but what really made this pant my new favorite is the fit. The fit is just like the Bronson, but with a hint of a slimmer leg from the knee down. The Bronson is more of a boot cut, while the Saxton is more tapered, making these, if you don’t mind me saying, even more flattering? Also, these pants are very much like the prAna Kravitz, but with the added gusset which, for me, makes them versatile enough for climbing/bouldering.
I have the prAna Saxton pant in dark ginger (coincidence that I also have ginger locks? possibly) but no mind you, I love the color, and it pairs great with a flannel. I’ve wore these from work right to the rock gym like they were intended. I bouldered in them for a couple hours, and man, these things are comfortable. The gusset and stretch really make these a great climbing pant.
I’m 185lbs, size 32”x32”, 6ft. , and I went with my normal 32”x32” sizing and they fit great. If you stick with your normal pant sizing you’ll be just fine. Definitely comes recommended by an office by day, climber by night kind of guy.
