prAna Performance Snakebite Fleece - Men's - 2006 BCS

This is a great very light weight fleece. It's really more of a T shirt than anything else. But it looks great and stays dry! It's less expensive than Merino wool and not quite as nice. But a good buy all the same!

I've generally worn the Snakebite as a layer with a warmer layer underneath in cold weather (sub-freezing) for trailrunning, or by itself in cool conditions. I'm not sure why it's called a "fleece" top, as there's nothing fleecy about it. The fit is a bit snug in the arms, so I'd recommend ordering a size larger than normal. The shirt is also stylish enough to use as casual wear.

I purchased this prior to the holidays to prepare for snow season. I have been very pleased with the performance of this shirt, can not figure out why it is referred to as a fleece, but it is a good base layer and does great for wicking. Don't assume it is like a normal fleece....you will be disappointed.

Found the item to be really thin and would of liked it to be made of better material for performance gear. As for using it as a base layer I would not use this item. This should only be used if you have nothing else to wear. I would try something else.

It keeps the wind out, the warmth in, and is very lightweight. A little too clingy to wear as a top layer (in public), but is comfortable and breathable. I have not yet needed to wash it, so I don't know how it will perform when laundered.
