A fitted cargo pant with DWR coating for traveling or hiking.

Whether you're about to embark on an overseas plane ride or a short afternoon hike, rely on the comfort and stretch of the Prana Women's Meme Pant. Designed with stretchy Zion fabric (nylon and spandex) and a DWR finish, the Meme flexes comfortably while you stride over fallen tree trunks and won't get immediately soaked through from a light drizzle or occasional splash of water from your cup during a turbulent plane ride. Its fitted cut and low rise flatter your curves, while the Meme's numerous pockets supply plenty of places for your small essentials.

    Perfect Pants

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

These pants are ready for anything you throw at them. You could go climbing/hiking and head to the bar in the same pair of pants. They have the perfect skinny cut but they are stretchy enough to let you move anyway you please. They became my favorite pair of pants as soon as I tried them on.

Unbearably cool but not enough stretch

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Size Bought: 6

These pants look so good that it was really tempting to keep them even though I could not raise my knees to waist level in them. I would go so far as to say that these pants were actually more flattering then most pants I own, so if I had more space to pack I would probably have brought them with me anyways for general use. They look so much better than other hiking pants that I really, really wanted to find a way to make them work, but the lack of flexibility combined with a marked waist gap means that sadly they're going back.

    Perfect Travel Pants!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Size Bought: Size 0

I'm 5'6, 121 lb, the size 0 was a perfect fit. The stretch on the pants were very comfortable and I love the waterproof fabric. I wore them on a recent camping trip to Big Sur and pretty much wore them everyday. They held their own and didn't get loose. Awesome! I look forward to wearing them rock climbing as well :)

    Runs small in the calves

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 2

I really love the Prana Halle pants so I thought I would like the Meme pants too because I love skinny leg pants. It feels like the same light and stretchy fabric that's in the Halle pants but it doesn't function quite the same way. The Meme pants has seams running horizontally across the legs which makes that part of the pant leg not stretchy. If you squat you'll feel the seams restrict your movement. Not great. I wear a size 0 short in the Halle and they fit perfectly. In the Meme I got a 2 regular. I'm 5'4" (with 35" hips) and the length works as does the waist. However the lower legs are pretty tight. Since it's tight around the calves it actually pulls the pants down from my waist. If you have bulky calves like I do, stick with the Halle.

Nice Look - Not Stretchy in the Least

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 8

I am technically an 8, but I often end up buying a size 10 depending on the fit in the thighs and how stretchy the material is.

As the description says these pants are "stretchy" I trusted that an 8 would fit appropriately. They do not.
They are not really what I would describe as stretchy. Not tearing as I try to squeeze the pants over my thighs is not "Stretch" that's just how your average pant should be. Stretchy means it will fit around my various parts while still hugging them.

When getting over my thighs, I thought if I could magically focus my weight loss energy solely into my thighs these would be fine, but then there was the area all around my waist - dreaded gap in the front and massive gap in the back.

So be warned, if you have larger thighs and a small waist, these will likely not fit at all. Pick a size, any size and you will have a problem either in the waist or the thighs.

I wear these way too much

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large

I have worn these pants everyday since I have gotten them except for the occasional wash. They have a great stretch to them, dry quickly when they're wet, and super comfortable. I purchased these for mainly climbing, but find myself wearing these most days. For sure size down.. the waist is HUGE.

    Great for the outdoors

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

These pants are great! They are perfect for any kind of outdoor activity. They are a heavier weight fabric so I would not wear them in the heat of the summer, ideally they are to be worn in the spring and fall. The stretchy fabric is great for things like climbing, hiking, and just lounging around.
I'd recommend these to anyone who is looking for a versatile outdoor pant with a soft and stretchy fabric.

    Too big but so right!

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 4

I usually wear a 4/6- so seeing the reviews I went with the 4. Unfortunately, the 4 was still way too big around the waist. But, I loved the pockets and the fabric. I'm in the process of returning and exchanging for a size 2- I'll keep you posted! I was too excited about the look and feel of these pants that I just had to get a pair that fits. Here's hoping!

    Great all around pant

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: Runs large

Got this for a friend and have feedback, only issue was sizing as the pants run a bit large, should have paid a bit more attention to the reviews ironically.

    My Go-To!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 6

I took these pants on a 4 month trip to New Zealand and don't have enough great things to say about them! From trekking, to farm work, to sightseeing, they held up better than anything else in my backpack. They're insanely comfortable, stretch with you, and dry quickly. They're also cute enough to wear on any given day if you're like me and love multi-purpose clothing.

I'm a true 6 in most pants, but also purchased these in an 8 to compare. I ended up keeping the 6. It's worth noting that they do stretch out a bit if you wear multiple times between washings. I also highly recommend prAna's Halle Pant if you're looking to get a baselayer underneath.

    Lookin good!

First off, let me say that I absolutely am so satisfied with the customer service and SPEEDY deliver from backcountry.com. Not only did my package actually arrive in 2 days the box contained my items plus additional gifts! My order experience online was great as I had someone live to chat with about sizing, material, etc. The product itself is nice and as described by other reviews. I ordered both a size 6 and 8 because I wanted to try on the pants while layer with wool long underwear. I ended up going with an 6 leaving me some moving room even with wool tights underneath. The hips and legs were well fitted with stretch and movement room, however the waste is gapping in the back. Not my favorite, but with a belt should be fine. I'm 5'3" and 125lbs. I have wider hips than waste line at 39" so I got a 6 but I could see a 4 fitting fine if you have the tighter slimmer body look. I haven't wore these out yet, but I'm sure they'll do fine as they felt warm with the layering and are said to be waterproof. I love the cargo pockets, nice tough but not too bulky looking! Great product!

      Really comfortable!

After reading the reviews of this pair of pants, I decided to give it a try. Wow! The material is very soft and stretchy. I wore it on a couple hikes and it worked great! It dried really quick as well.
I ordered size 2 and it fits nicely.

      Cute and Functional

I bought the black pair and I am very happy with these pants. The are comfortable and breathable, slightly stretchy and of medium thickness. They are a little too thick to wear on hot summer hikes, but they are good for cool fall days.

I love the fit, they are more stylish than most hiking pants. I am also a stylist and even wore these to work recently. I do have a few complaints... the waist is a little too large, The waist seemed to fit better the first couple of wears , then I noticed I had to keep pulling the pants up during hikes - but nothing a belt can't fix. Although I love the cargo pockets for storing little necessities on hikes, I don't like that they are button closure... I think zipper or snaps would be easier to open and close. Afraid that a button will pop off one day.

I really wanted the green pair, but my size was sold out! Considering getting the green pair if they are re-stocked.
I haven't owned many synthetic pants so it took a minute to get used to the material, but they are really comfortable. They also got way softer after a wash.

      New favorite pants

I ordered these for a Europe hiking trip but find myself wearing them most days! Got the blank and green and I love the colors.

They sit fairly high on my waist, just below my belly button. The stretch is super comfortable, and the cut is very flattering.

I literally wore them every day I was in Europe (10 days!) and so did my sister. They didn't look dirty even after multiple hikes, they held their shape and didn't get baggy, and performed like a dream.

Like a lot, but runs large

The meme pant has a really flattering slim fit and look. It has great flexibility for climbing. I got a size 2 since I have the PrAna Brenna Pant in a size 2, but it is a bit big in the waist. One size down would've probably fit better for this particular pant.

        Great Slim Fit Hiking/Lifestyle Pant

        Great Fabric- Great Fit

I love this DWR coated stretch zion fabric. These pants say they are low rise, but I would say it's more like a mid rise. Super stretchy fabric so you can wear them tight without compromising comfort. I climb in these, hike, and wear them with boots all the time. LOVE.

Hi Kaley! So... I was wondering on sizing. Thanks for putting your measurements, for one! Wish more people did. I am 5' 1", around 115, sometimes less, normally around a 4 - 6 in most bottoms. My hips are bigger than my waist. Actually if it wasn't for my hips I could probably be a 2-4 (depending on clothing company, etc.). I see you purchased a 4, at 125lbs (but that could mean nothing depending on your proportions, etc). Do you have any recommendations on how this fit?

        Meme

        Meme

Do thermals fit under these pants or are they perfectly warm enough for freezing cold weather?

Is there no size 0 option at all?

        Bridget,

Prana does make a size 0 for this pant but unfortunately we haven't ordered any.

Does anyone know if this (2015) season's Meme pant still has the seam across the top of the lower thigh? It looks that way from the picture, but I am hoping they've loosened the seam or somehow made it more stretchy like the rest of the pant. I loved the fit of last year's but couldn't move as much as I wanted in it because the seam restricted the stretchiness of the material.

The seam is still on these pants in the same spot but they still offer a ton of stretch in the material.
