    All around pant!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 10

This a great pant that can go from hiking to class to the office and to date night! I got the Black color in a size 10 and the waist belt is very stretchy so it doesn't make me and my love handles feel self conscious, it fits very well on my hips. I'm giving four starts because the bottom is so wide, it definitely cannot be worn down when cycling. However there is the nifty buttons by your knees to roll the pants up. Overall, comfortable, multi use pants, I recommend then!

    Comfortable, flattering, durable

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 6

Got these pants a few months ago and absolutely love them. They have a flattering boot-cut fit and they are the perfect length for me. They look nice enough to wear around town to run errands etc, but they are also plenty comfortable and hard-wearing for the trails. I recently wore them for seven days straight while backpacking through the Smokies and they stood up to everything I threw at them and still looked smart enough for town at the end of the trip. As another reviewer says, they do stretch out a little at the waist if you wear them for several days straight, but there is a drawstring inside the waist to help with that. In general they are just loose enough to be able to fit a microweight baselayer underneath if needed, though they are pretty wind-resistant on their own anyway. They also dry very fast if you get them wet and are resistant to stains and dirt. I definitely recommend these pants! FYI they do run a little large based on the Prana size chart (on the chart I would be an 8-10 but fit a size 6 in these pants).

    Comfortable, flattering, durable

    My favorite!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Size Bought: 6 Short

It got to the point where I was always choosing my pair of Halle's over any of my other hiking pants and shorts, so here I am buying them in two more colors. The material is stretchy, breathable, yet still protects well from wind. They're also extremely comfortable! I've worn these in the middle of summer for days while on camping trips, and on snowshoe hikes in the winter with a base layer underneath. They've not only held up extremely well, but they've been comfortable for year-round use. I did lose one button on them a couple months ago, nothing that can't be easily mended. Buy these pants! :)

    BEST Hiking Pant Ever!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large

I originally ordered a 4 in this pant and they felt a little baggy so I exchanged them for a size 2. They tend to stretch out a tad if you forgo washing them for days on end. I wear a size 4 or 28 regularly. I spent a month trekking in Nepal and wore these without washing them for the entire trip and they stretched out in the waist BUT they have a drawstring so it wasn't a problem!

Let me take a minute and tell you about why I LOVE this material. Say goodbye to techy-swishy sounding trekking pants. These pants feel like a hug but are tough enough to withstand a summer of bushwhacking to the tallest peaks. And it stretches! They dry quickly after a rain shower.

Other features I love: side thigh pocket big enough for the iPhone 6s with a lifeproof case on, snaps to hold the pants at capri length, button close back pockets, and articulated knees.

I wear these trekking, climbing, around town, and in the office. I have a 31 inch inseam and the regular fit with my hiking boots and trail running shoes but would be a tad long if I wore flip flops.

10/10 would recommend to a friend.

    BEST Hiking Pant Ever!

Now I want a pair in every color!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 6 Long

I have always struggled to find pants long enough for me. I'm decently tall and *all* of my height is in my legs, not my torso. I'm thrilled to have outdoor pants that aren't highwaters! (They are almost too long)! They fit great, but it would be hard for me to dress them up. I saw someone mention that they were baggy on her and it is the same for me. I'm lankier and not very curvy so the actual pant leg is pretty loose the whole way down, even though the waist fits very well. I wasn't sure what size to order because I wear anything from a 2 to a 10, dependent upon the brand. I generally wear about a 28 in traditional sizing though and the 6 is absolutely perfect.

    Favorite pants!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 6 reg and 6 short

These are my new favorite pants. I have hiked, rock climbed and lived in these pants. I have dressed them up and gone totally casual. The Halle is so versatile! I feel like they run long. I have never bought a "short" in anything but I had to send the regular length back and kept the short. The reg length drags the floor and bunches with my boots. Also, I have a booty that just doesn't fit into a lot of the other brands of outdoor gear. These pants hug my curves and are super comfy. I love them!

    Wears them all the time

    • Fit: True to size

She absolutely loves these pants and they do look very good on anyone. They are great for being outdoors but you can also wear them around the work place. My friend says "I own several pairs of these pants and they're some of my favorite from Prana! I wear them hiking/backpacking, climbing, on long travel days, around town, and always make sure to throw a pair in my bag when traveling around. Size 0 fits me, but opted for a size 2 because I wanted a looser fit. "

    From the crag to class

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

I purchased these pants a year ago and still wear them weekly. The fabric is stretchy and perfect for climbing, but the pants are stylish enough that I can wear them anywhere. After about 8 months of wear I did have a button pop off, but it was an easy fix. Great purchase! Highly recommend.

    Not for slim builds...

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 0

I really wanted to like these! They seem to come out with a lot of colors each season and seem versatile, but the fit was really off for me. The material seemed durable though not necessarily the most comfortable (have you tried Columbia's Saturday Trail pant??)

I get that you don't want skinny jeans for climbing and hiking, but these were so baggy on me, that you couldn't even tell that there's a bootcut shape to the hem. I'm 5'5", 110lbs and usually wear a 24 or 0 in pants, but the 0 from Prana was super loose on the waist even with the drawstring (which didn't seem to help much), and I would worry they'd slide down too much with a backpacking pack on.

I'm jealous of all the ladies who get to wear them!

    Great Pant

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 12

Love the material and stretchiness of these pants. Light weight material allows great movement and comfort. The pant legs roll up and have straps to hold them at capri length, perfect for climbing or wading. These pants were a little big in the waist but they have a draw string that helps to adjust to a perfect fit. They also are a bit long for me. I will probably have them hemmed after I wash them a few times just so they don't drag in the dirt when I hike.

Seem great but a little short

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 2

After hearing so many people rave about these pants I had to give them a try! I got the Coal in a size 2R usually wear a 26/27. While they fit fine in the waist/butt they are just a smidge small length wise. I am a taller girl and since they are a wide leg fit, the shortness is more noticeable on me. I haven't decided if I will return them yet or size up to a tall.

    Wonderful!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Bought these for a friend and this is what she had to say.

" I am a big fan of these pants. They are comfortable and perfect for outdoor activities, especially rock climbing and hiking. I like the charcoal color, it goes well with a lot of things. They only thing I would change about the pants is how wide they are at the bottom. But besides that they are wonderful pants and I would purchase more. "

true to size for curvy body type

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 4

I listened to reviews that halle pants run big... not for me. I would say that these pants are true to size. I have small waist, wider hips and I usually wear size 6 pants and should have bought size 6. Size 4 is going back:( I could put on size 4 pants, just didn't look pretty. Material is good and I like style and all details.

    Great pants!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 6 short

Fantastic material, great colors and durability. My only regret with these pants are the pockets. Love the back pockets, enjoy the side pocket despite how hard it is to get things in and out of without everything falling out. The front pockets are a bit too shallow for my small hands and there is no way to carry a phone with these pants. Other than that, they are perfect. They definitely run large. I'm 5'4" 120 lbs with boy hips. I like to wear my pants loose and low, but a 6 in these is too loose and low but with the handy internal tie string they work and are crazy comfortable. Even too big the butt still doesn't look saggy, really well designed even for those of us with a tiny bum! These 6 short are a little long on me still, but due to the aforementioned wearing loose and low. Size 4 short on order! Can't go wrong with Prana and definately not Halle pants. Have the shorts as well, long but excellent.

    Perfect pants!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: size 2

Finally a pair of hiking pants made for small girls with small butts, who love to move, and look great while moving. Finally! The material is durable and I like that they are resistant to water. Great pants! I bought the shorts that were on sale. I'm very happy with my purchase. I also love that the length comes in short. And Backcountry is the only place I'll buy my stuff! Just saying.

    Favorite pants ever!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 6

Hands down my favorite pants ever! I have them in 3 colors now. The green and black are my favorite. They are so comfortable and can be dressed up or down. I also like how they are adjustable length and can be shortened into capris. I hate wearing pants but love these!

    Go-to Hiking Pants

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large

These fit a bit bigger than being true to size. Color is a nice steel blue. These pants kept me warm all day long in cloudy / rainy weather. Even wore during the night sometimes in 40 degree weather. Great for layering and wearing a pair of shorts underneath. Material is very comfortable and forgiving. Perfect for lounging and moderate activity. Cuffed capris were convenient with the warm weather and great for day hikes! Versatile pants, and would definitely recommend.

    • Size Bought: 0/2

These pants are fantastic! I wear them everywhere, everyday and in all of the colors. I can wear this climbing, to school, to work and if I feel like getting fancy in town I can pull that off in these pants too! Honestly the best pants I have ever worn.

I saw my brother wearing the mens version a few years ago and knew I wanted them...now every member of my family owns at least 1 pair.

Size wise I'd say they do run way big, I usually wear like a 4 (I think...it's been so long since I've bought any pants but these) and my favorite fit in these is a 0 short size which feel like they were tailored for me. I can also wear a 2 short or regular inseam but I don't like that fit as well, they are little bit baggy and too long except with taller shoes.

The buttons must be sharp on the inside or something because I have had to sew the top buttons back on on a few pairs but it's a price I am willing to pay.

In short, get these pants and you will never go back.

Makes me look like a great gift giver

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

I gave these as a gift to the lady in my life and she loves them! Great fit, awesome fabric and they wash very well. Highly recommended to active women everywhere. (...and she's picky)

    Unanswered Question

How long is the inseam in a 12 long? And do these truly run big or are they just a baggy fit? My concern is if I size down would they be too tight in the waistband. I'm fit but I'm apple shaped so waistbands are my problem in women's clothing since they tend to be cut smaller in the waist. Any advice on if I should really Size down? For those that did size down, did it make the pant fitted?

Is size 0 only available in Tall? How does the sizing & fit compare to the Kara jean?

    Hey Chelsea,

The fit of the halle is more relaxed compared to the kara. The kara is also a little more vanity sized (runs one size smaller) so I would think that the Halle runs true to size and more relaxed.

    Thanks!
