The prAna Bronson has rivet reinforcements and added stretch so it's durable enough to handle all kinds of crazy stuff like vaulting over fences in pursuit of bad guys and sliding across car hoods as you sprint through busy intersections. Or maybe it's just durable enough to handle kicking back with a cold one after you finally send that stupid-hard bouldering problem.

    • A touch of spandex adds flexibility for kicking your feet up
    • Standard fit works well for post-climb chilling
    • Gusseted crotch gives your legs room to move

    Great pants

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

So I bought these in a 36x32 in the pewter color and loved them so I bought a second pair 36x32 in the charcoal color and they are a much looser fit, even after a couple of washing's. Not sure what happened but they're still a great pant. just a little sad on the different fitments.

    Very comfortable!

Fit is as expected, maybe a little long. Nice and cool on hot days too! Just the right amount of stretch to make them very comfortable all day. Only 1 complaint, they wrinkle really bad! Hoping that this will ease up after wear and wash...

      OK Pant

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These pants are OK and a bit pricey for what you get. First off they fit nice and comfortable when they are ready to wear. Waist size seems true while the length seems to be a tad bit short. The deal breaker here is that they need to be ironed. I have not ironed clothes in years. In fact I almost got rid of my iron and board. Nope, now I need to use them every weekend if I want to wear these pants after washing. The wrinkles are not light cotton wrinkles that come out with wear. They are sharp creases in the lower legs that must be worked with an iron. Not good.

      Perfect

These are a perfect compliment to my lined Bronson pant. They are cool enough to hike and move around in 80-90 heat but also keep the wind from chilling you at night. The stretch and gusset crotch are the best.

Nice casual pants with hiking features

      • Size Bought: 33 waist

During the winter I got the lined Bronson pants and wore them several days a week while it was cold outside, sometimes indoors after work too. After several weeks they became my favorite cotton pants so I wanted an unlined version for summer and really like the Henna and Cumin color options. The side pocket is great for my phone and the stretch fabric feels great when out on the trail.

The cotton spandex combo provides a soft and unique feel in a pair of pants. Ive worn them on a few hikes and they are pretty durable so far. No snags or rips even through some pretty thick brush. They seem to be pretty quick to dry as well compared to a regular pair of jeans. Whether work or play the Bronson is my go to for office and trail.
The front pockets are nice and big and fit an Iphone 6 plus with no problem.
I purchased these because its hard to find a pant that fits my tall length.. And waist im usually between a 32 and 34 and these fit with no size trial at all.
Only downside to these, they are pretty wrinkle prone in the lower legs , out of the wash. They also pick up pet hair more than Id like.

Other than that. Great pants. Great feel

Pewter shouldn't be green, but still...

As others have noted, the pewter color is actually green (not a light/medium grey, which is what you would expect, and what is shown in the picture). Having said that, it's a pretty nice green, and the pants themselves are excellent - really great fit, very comfortable, and solid construction. They do really wrinkle, but I can live with that.

Update: I got 2 more pair, the charcoal and the brown (mud?). Love 'em!

Nice Dark Khaki, BUT, PEWTER=CARGO GREEN

      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 33/32

BEWARE: YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED with Prana's ideal of what constitutes a grey. There is an ugly little bait and switch going on between the marketing picture and what actually arrives. Got the Dark Khaki color, comfortable, nice fit-- like em. It is comical how sad I was to see the pewter color-did not even try them on. Tonally nowhere near what is shown.

Good maybe great but prob not top shelf.

The Bronson pants are very comfortable right out of the box. The fabric is soft and has plenty of stretch. No restriction in range of motion. The cut is in between slim and relaxed. The leg openings are a bit larger than I expected, great with boots or large shoes but they will fall down over smaller shoes like classic Vans for example. However they did double layer the fabric on the heel side of the pant to about 6 inches up from the bottom, so you probably wont fray them out if you walk on the back-bottom too much. They do stiffen a bit and wrinkle up pretty bad after the first wash and don't look great when you put them on however after 30min of moving around they seem to flatten out a bit. Its a casual pant anyway so no big deal there. They are true to size and don't shrink very much at all when you wash them (wash cold and dry on delicate/low heat). I bought the Pewter color and it is more green than the grey they show on the website. Kinda a cross between the pewter they show and the cargo green. Will probably buy more.

Not a fan of the cut

I bought these pants initially because of of how much I love the bronson shorts. The fit is great, super durable and comfortable. When it comes to pants I am super picky about the cut and took a risk buying these since they are standard fit. In the thigh area they fit great like the shorts but the leg opening is a little too baggy for me. I ride my bike to class which is a couple miles and I just can't stand when my pants are too loose. Nothing wrong with the pants I just need to find a different style from prana. If these were going to be worn with a boot they would be great.

      Great Pants

The Bronsons are very comfortable. The fabric is soft and has some stretch. The cut is in between slim and relaxed. Overall they are a great pair of pants.

I bought the Pewter color and it is more green than grey. They are true to size.

      Bottom line: you'll love them.

      Go to pant

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

I usually have trouble finding pants that are comfortable, durable, and look good, but the Bronson meets all the criteria. They are definitely a casual pant, but are super comfortable and roomy. Loved these so much that I ended up getting 4 different colors. I ordered the 34x32 and they fit perfect.

      Wrinkle-prone

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size

I loved these until I washed them. I don't know how nobody else reviewed this aspect (maybe they hadn't yet washed them), but they get SUPER wrinkly after washing. I even washed them a second time to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Then I tried to iron them (which I never want to have to be doing with a casual pant) and they still had major wrinkles. Time to return and keep searching:(

      Work pants that are comfortable

I love these pants! I don't really use them much for climbing, but I'm outside in woods everyday doing field work. I have two pairs that I have used for the past year that are still in good shape, except for a small hole where my boot rubs. As an alternative to Carhardt work pants, I would go with the Bronsons anyday.

      Nice Pants

These are nice pants that look pretty good. For climbing, I wish they were a tad bit stretchier. They are about equivalent to a thin pair of jeans. Relaxed but not too baggy fit.

      I love these. Usually.

These pants are amazing & pretty much exactly what I wanted - a slightly less serious version of Carhartt's, and a little more comfortable because of it. The flannel lined version is pretty amazing too.

I've had four pairs of these though over the years - maybe the styling has changed, but none of them really fit the same, which is great when the fit... but crappy when they don't.

Also - be careful when you wash them. They will shrink and stiffen up if you aren't. A lot.

      Love them!

First time I've tried products from this Prana. They fit perfectly and get more comfortable after a few washes. I could wear these every day!

So far I am loving it.

I like my Mountain Hardwear Passenger pant better because of the stretch material and the zipper wallet pocket. Wish the prana had a similar closure. On the other hand, the right thigh utility pocket is quite useful for a knife or flashlight. Material seems rugged enough!

prAna needs to review their colors

Pewter sure looks gray on the website, but awfully green in real life. These pants fit nicely, though...not skinny and not baggy, waist and length are true to size. Just wish it were gray like in the picture.

Can one iron these? Do they require ironing?

I have a pair of these pants from last...

I have a pair of these pants from last year and I really love the fit. That being said I just ordered another pair a couple of weeks ago and the fit seems much wider in the leg at the bottom of the pant. I laid both of the pants on top of one another and in fact my pants from last year had a much more tapered leg. Does anyone know if they changed the fit on this model since last year or did I unknowingly shrink my older pants in the wash over time?
