Almost perfect.

• Fit:Runs large

Okay i'm just going to get the part i don't like about these over with.. They seem to run slightly large. I wear anywhere from a 29-30 waist and a 32 in inseam . the length is okay but the waist seems to be huge! i wish i would have gotten a 28 inch waist.

Now that that the bad is over lets get to the nitty gritty. I own four different pairs of these and I seriously feel like i could use them for pretty much anything! Seriously.. on the rare occasion that i go to church i wear the Mud color of these and they looks amazing. I use them to climb in, Hike in, go out on the town in, and on warmer days i will throw a base layer underneath near and snowshoe in them as they are highly water resistant. not water proof.. but highly water resistant for sure.

...Heck they are so light and comfy i've even considered sleeping in them..

Almost perfect.

Perfect Pant

• Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
• Fit:True to size

I snagged a pair of these for my bf, and he loves them. Just as much as his Lulu pants... if not more. First and foremost, it's awesome that these come in so many different sizes. They fit very true- he generally wears a 30-32 waist, and the 31s fit perfect. The inseam ran true in length as well. I thought that with a 'regular' fit they would be baggier, but they are a little more straight/trim. Not skintight by any means, but definitely not baggy.
The material is also pretty swell. Some stretch allows for easy movement, and in general they just lay against the skin nicely- not stiff or overbearing. And they for sure can be dressed up nicer with a sweet flannel, or your everyday pant with a basic tee. Overall, killer pants- you'll be coming back for more than one pair.

Great for casual and adventure

• Familiarity:I've used it several times

The week after I got these I used them to do a lot of scrambling and climbing at Indian Creek. I couldn't have asked for more. When I got hot, the legs stayed rolled up without restricting my motion. They also have a bit more of a casual look than some of the other prana pants, so that (and their comfort) has made them my favorite pants for school as well. I'm 5'10" 150 lbs. The 30x32 is perfect for me without needing a belt.

Oh Backcountry, why no love for shorty?

I love my Brion pants in 28x30 inseam. Alas, they have a hole from scrambling to the boulders. Why won't you stock for us of smaller stature, Backcounty? I'm not that short; 5'8", just under average.

Most Comfortable Pants

• Familiarity:I've used it several times
• Fit:True to size
• Size Bought: 32x32

These are the most comfortable pants I own. The material stretches to move with you. They also look good enough to pull off in some more casual work settings. I now regret wearing any other pants to work. I should have bought more!

They dry quickly and don't seem to get very wrinkled either. The colors (even the brighter ones) are relatively subdued. Nothing is too flashy or bright. I also like that they are relatively breathable so they aren't stiflingly hot in the summer. At the same time, they are warm enough to pull off in the early spring or fall when it's cool out.

The Prana Zion Pants with the cargo pocket are better for camping and hiking, while these are better if you want to wear them around town, but have the option of getting outdoors as well.

I don't think anyone would regret getting a pair (or a few pairs) of these pants. You will end up wearing them every day.

My favorite pants

• Fit:True to size
• Size Bought: 30-32

These are the best pants I have ever owned. They are very durable and stretchy, which makes them great for climbing. They fit well, which means you can wear them anywhere and look good. I am constantly getting compliments on them (although it might just be because I have a nice butt). Plus they weigh next to nothing. Overall, you won't go wrong with these pants and you'll end up wearing them way too much.

comfortable, but not a perfect fit

• Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
• Fit:Runs large
• Size Bought: 32x32

Coming into fall, I was excited to put these prAna pants to heavy use. I wear a size 32x32 in every pant I own, but when I received these they were too big in every aspect. The waist, crotch, and legs. Also I like a tapered fit pant to climb in so I don't catch my ankle cuff on the rock or any holds. These were very wide at the bottom-almost resembling a bell bottom pant. I love the material so if you like a looser fit these pants are for you. No restrictions.

Stretchy durable comfort

• Familiarity:I've used it several times

• Size Bought: 33x32

I have used these pants in a casual setting and really enjoy the increased range of comfortable motion they allow. The DWR is amazing water just beads off. I have not had them long enough to speak to durability but the fabric breathes well and does not snag on things. I got these on clearance and the color (blue) was a bit flashy for an old guy like me but I am over it.

Just plain doesn't fit

• Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
• Fit:Runs large
• Size Bought: 30x32

Like apparently everything prAna makes this isn't true to size. It doesn't just run large, it runs huge. I ordered a 30x32 and the waist measures 34 inches, there is no way this thing will ever fit me. I'm also no looking to wear a belt under my climbing harness.

Perfect fabric but the fit falls short

• Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
• Fit:True to size
• Size Bought: 33x32

I've been looking for a great pant that I could use to boulder in, hike/camp in, but also wear in more casual settings (bars, office, etc). My main needs included a durable technical fabric, some sort of water resistance and/or moisture-wicking, and an ideal fit, which is a slim taper. I am not ashamed to say that I like to look good no matter what I'm doing.

While these pants meet most of my needs, the fit is pretty funky. They fit great from the waistband and through the thighs, hugging all parts ever so slightly, but not uncomfortably. From the knee down, these pants seemed to continue straight down without any sort of taper. The end result would be a slim fitting top half, and a billowy, loose and ill-fitting bottom half.

I'd like to find something that has a more modern fit with the same technical features as these pants, but I won't fork over hundreds of dollars , so these will have to do! I ended up tapering them myself, and now they fit exactly like Levi's 511 jeans. After the minor adjustment, they are absolutely perfect, and I will be purchasing more, and tailoring them to fit my needs, and my calves.

Prana knows everything about comfort!

New favorite pair of pants! They run a bit long for me with a 32 inseam at 5'10" but don't even mind the tiny bit of extra material of the bottom. These have a material that stays so soft even after a couple of washes. Also feels like you can notice them repel more moisture than take in. Definitely a top on the list to wear going on an adventure or just cruising around town.

Was not disappointed!!!

I bought three pairs of these bad boys and love em. Just got back from a trip to Nepal and put them through the ringer. Did a ton of hiking to remote villages with a 50lb pack full of camera equipment and was dripping from sweat and they didn't loose their fit. One of the guys I went with took jeans and they attracted a ton of crap and had a lovely smell after a few days. Bonus that they look good enough to wear to work as well. I would recommend these to anybody.

Was not disappointed!!!

I purchased these a couple of weeks ago on impulse while at the retail store to buy a new daypack. On initial touch, they're not super soft, but when I tried them on I realized just how much stretch they have. They fit me true to size around the middle and are just a bit longer than expected, but they're easily the most comfortable pair of pants I own. I recently purchased three pair of similar pants from a different brand for work, but I find myself wearing these two or three times a week instead because I like them so much. I haven't worn them climbing yet, but I already know they'll be the best addition I ever made to my gear bag. I'd love to buy three or four more pair, but the price is a little high for me. It would also be nice to see some of the other colors go on sale, wink, wink.

Perfect

Used these to climb indoors (too hot for outdoors right now). As great as the reviews below. Wallet pocket is a little odd (zips on side), but works fine. Slim fit enough to look decent around town. Will say that I found the M too big in Prana shorts, but the 32/32 perfect in the pants.

These Pants are the Bomb!

These pants are absolutely excellent. They’re comfortable, durable, packable, diverse and I’ve had several attractive women tell me that they make my butt look good. It’s for this reason that I now own 3 pairs of these pants.

I wear these pants everywhere; at home, to the gym, when I’m out and about… feel comfortable wearing them everywhere. They’re functional enough to wear climbing and still fit well enough to wear to your local watering hole post-climbing session.
These pants feature Prana's Zion Stretch fabric, and it is incredible. The stuff is remarkably comfortable, breathes well, and is unbelievably durable. I wear these year round, and find them comfortable in most situations.

I've only had them a short time but they're easily one of the most comfortable pairs of pants I've ever worn! They seem pretty durable and have a nice amount of stretch. I normally wear a 31X34 but the 30X32 fits well!

Unanswered Question

My Zion Pants size S are 17inches in waist (laid down flat) - they are perfect - need to find the corresponding size in the Brion Pant..

Unanswered Question

Does anybody else find that the inseam runs long? For example, I am nearly always a 32x32 and even with the pRana WYATT, I wear a 32x32 but the Brion feels like a 31 inseam would be perfect. I'm trying both a 32 and 30 inseam. What's your take?

I have several pairs of these pants and love them. However, I notice that when I want to buy more my size is never available, in the colours I like. Being in Australia I can't try on clothes so I take a risk buying online. What are some brands that offer fitted or slim fit hiking/climbing pants, I hate baggy pants and like the feel of fitted pants with stretch like the brions. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Try Zipravs. They are Korean-made. The ones I got from Amazon fit great and appear to be pretty durable so far....The shipping from Korea was easier for me to get in Alaska than from the lower 48. They also run small. I wear a 30 and ordered a 32 and they are perfect. Good luck!

Thanks heaps buddy, believe it or not I have had a few wins with Korean made pants especially dress pants. I will check them out now. Thanks again!

Are these basically the stretch zion pants...

Are these basically the stretch zion pants but with a slimmer fit?

Although the picture makes them look a little slimmer they are a standard fit, just like the Stretch Zion pants. The Brion pant is a blend of the Bronson pant and the Stretch Zion pant. The Brion pant has the same fabric as the Zion but it doesn't have the built in adjustable belt, the roll up leg snaps or the cargo pocket. Like the Bronson, it has the 5 pocket styling with the reinforced rivet details. Essentially streamlining this style to be more of a casual feel but still with the same awesome, super durable fabric of the Zion, that we have all come to know and love.

And just a side note, they are also DWR coated :)
