I love Prana products. But their sizing is true to their roots, namely activewear for very slim yoga enthusiasts (for guys that means if you're 5' 10" and 150 lbs, you'll love their stuff). The Belay Insulator is no exeption. I'm 5' 4" with a 40 inch chest. I returned a medium because it felt like a straight jacket. The large fits better, although obviously a bit long, but I'll keep since I don't want to pay return shipping. Looks really nice for City wear, but like other have commented here I don't think I'd use it for outdoor activities.

First - Backcountry customer service is amazing.

This jacket looks great, feels light and is quality-made. However, there is no way it is designed for climbing or any other activity.

The fit is great, while standing still. As soon as you move your arms it becomes tight and restricting. The ways the armpits are sewn restrict overhead movement. I cannot fully extend my arms in front of me. Nor can I cross my arms in front.
Nearly all of my prAna button downs fit the same way. However, I do not wear them for physical activity.

I am 5'10 and 175#, probably a 40-41 inch chest and I purchased a large.

The sleeves hang perfectly with arms to the side but they ride up the forearm. The narrow wrist outlet limits even this. I don't think I want to pay return shipping just to try on an extra-large. I kind of think it might be less restrictive but look ill fitting.
