The Night Hawk's 550-fill down insulation fends off the chills whether you're riding off into the sunset or riding the lift. This down jacket benefits from two servings of modern technology and a healthy dose of western style—leave the overwrought Dumb and Dumber look to the après-boot-wearing masses at Aspen and keep it real in the Night Hawk Down Jacket. A DWR fabric treatment fends off light moisture, while the Alpaca mesh lining keeps things cool when you work up a sweat. Bust open the Underarm zips for some natural AC and ditch the removable hood when the sun makes its appearance.

the jacket is awesome, but alas, it has to go back, I would say that if you are a normal sized person this jacket will fit you in whatever size you usually wear, however if you are fairly muscular with large shoulders, and decent sized arms, you're not going to be able to deal with it, it cut into my arm pits and my arms felt like they didn't have enough mobility, however it fit fine through the mid section...god I wish they made an XXL

i'm looking for a slimmer fitting down jacket that's about hip length. also i would like it to keep me warn in below freezing weather with maybe a baselayer.this jacket looks to fit the bill, am i correct. and if not what are some other good optionsthanks, curtis

For temps below freezing (not below zero), you really shouldn't need too much down. For those sorts of temps, I really like down sweaters. They use super high quality down (800 fill) but skimp on bulk, so they're slim and more practical for around town, or layered under a shell for backcountry trekking. I have the Patagonia Down Sweater, but Montbell has a wide range of great quality lighter down jackets

Nice jacket. Cut seems a little big on me, color for atlantic/haze/radish WAY way off, look at the powderhorn site for more realistic colors. Hood is removable and nice & puffy. Definitely a town jacket, though it apparently has dwr I can't imagine the seams holding up through much weather. Nice cuffs & alpaca lined pockets. Gets me through the snow to my car, and from my car to the bar. Made in China.
