Hard to find good under cuff GTX gloves

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit:True to size

I prefer having GTX liners, leather palms, and under cuff length. And this one ticks all those marks and does a good job at it too.

A nice feature that seems to be missing from gloves these days is a glove retention loop, so you can quickly pop these off on the lift to use your favorite electronic device, and not worry about dropping the gloves.

Not totally water proof, especially if you take them off. But even when soaking wet, the insulation did a fine job keeping my hands warm. Said wet day was a recent rare super wet powder day in Utah, and I was definitely taking the gloves off so snow was getting inside.

Haven't had them in colder temps (sub 10F) so can't comment there. But no issues with anything above that. And no reason to think it won't work well below that.

All in all, a well designed glove that works as advertised.

    Good, but not great

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I think this glove is well-made, stylish, and warm... but it could be much warmer. I've had chilly hands on 20-25 degree days wearing these. To combat that problem, I'm using a pair of plastic dishwashing gloves inside mine to trap moisture and work as a vapor barrier. They increase the warmth, and they also prevent the glove from getting stinky.

I've read that the reason your feet get cold is because the water (sweat) directly in contact with your feet chill (water transfers heat 20x faster than air) and thus the skin in direct contact with the chilled water gets cold, hence cold feet. The best material for wicking away sweat right now is wool

I believe by wearing a dishwashing glove, you're trapping moister directly in contact with your skin, and really compounding the problem (ie - preventing the glove from doing it's job). Get rid of the dishwashing glove, and see the results. We'd love to know!
