Description

Carry on.

Pet rocks on sale at the farmers' market? No problem! Sweet hand-carved gnome statuary going for cheap? Done and done! Retriever wants to go for a ride? Load that sucker up! With Portland Design Works' Payload Rear Rack, you can carry up to 77lbs worth of stuff without worrying about damaging the double-ply bamboo deck and steel frame, even if your legs hate you for trying to haul the equivalent of a chubby 10 year old up the hill to your apartment. The swooping lines of the frame and natural look of the deck are as sexy as they are useful, and PDW includes all the mounting hardware you need to set up and go, so you don't need to wait before you head out to collect dear old Aunt Sally's collection of ankle weights and Bun Burners videos.

  • Steel frame
  • Double-ply bamboo deck
  • Mounting hardware included
  • 77lb capacity

Hey Ricardo,

This rack mounts to standard braze-on mounts for racks or fenders, so as long as your bike has those braze on mounts, you should be good to go.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Works well but you need the right bags.

So I finally got a chance to get out and take this rack on a nice long overnight, and the rack performed very well even when loaded to max capacity. Everything stayed in place very well my only concern is that certain bags will fit better than others. The swooping legs on it make some of the hard plastic backed bags not want to sit perfectly against the rack and bumpy dirt roads can occasionally give you a little buzz from a spoke touching the corner of your bag. Anything with a more rounded profile works very well though. All things considered though, the rack performs very well and never gave me any signs of flexing.

I have one one my 22" Ogre. The only issue I found was that it has to mount on the rearward mounting hole, which is the same hole the fender attaches to.
