I use this for cycling, weight-lifting, kettlebells, kickbox and any activity I'd like to monitor. I've even used it for a full day of hyper-gardening out of curiosity. The ProPolar Trainer software is nothing short of genus. Transfer is a breeze with a Cables Unlimited (USB1510 USB Acc, USB To Irda Adapter) from Amazon. The interface is intuitive even though at first you are wondering if all these features are going to be annoying to figure out. Nope. Its very cool and I feel extremely accurate as for the first time I can see marked improvement (including weight loss) when I need to push the calories. You can also add workouts into the ProPolar without downloading from the watch, I figured that out easily on my own.
I would also like to add that Backcountry.com is the only place I'd buy this because of the guarantee and customer service. They stood by me once again, and I appreciate this very much.
