POC Receptor+ Helmet

Such a badass helmet! Really good fit, awesome and comfortable protection. I wear helmet everyday because of this bad boy.

Just like the Bug, except slightly heavier due to the impact barrier...(can't notice the difference...I have both). Also, the sizing on this is "slightly" looser than the Receptor Bug, maybe to accommodate for other seasons? maybe an individual fluke on my particular piece?
I'd still buy it again...in fact did I mention I have two? Bought my daughter a POC poquito helmet after I wore this a few times. Done deal.

I have tried a few other helmets besides this one, due to me returning this helmet. This helmet did have some features that I really liked about it. The removable ventilation lining is amazing. Also the design of the vent holes prevent snow from entering the top of your helmet if its snowing outside and you have the liner out.

The padding is very nice, and shape in front for the goggles is perfect.

Thinks I didn't like. the helmet fit perfectly snug as it should, but the placement of the ear covers are back way to far. If you wear the helmet properly, when you ski you will have air and wind going right into your ears. Who wants that? I also didn't like the chin strap. The soft cover part was to small and would slide over to the side over time eventually not doing anything except be in the way. Also the goggle clip is a horrible design. Could be much better.

Overall the helmet was not bad, and looked really nice. But I have found that other helmets offer the better ear protection and more comfortable chin strap that I like to have.

I love this helmet. be a little careful on the fit. POC helmets fit a little different than giro and smith. otherwise it is a great helmet.

I am still a fan of the designs, colors, and tech that POC puts into its helmets but they did not work out for me. First off the sizing chart is wrong in every helmet I've had I've been a large POC said I was a XL they were wrong. Backcountry send me the right size and made an exchange really easy (thanks BC) but the helmet has strange pressure points. I had read previous reviews that stated this but didn't believe them tell I had tried the helmet.

Bottom line I like the brand but the sizing chart is a size too large and its a uncomfortable helmet unless your a alien or Swedish.

I bought this helmet in the hope of finally having a single helmet that I could use for skiing, rock climbing, river tubing, and whatever other random activities come up.

So far I've only use it for skiing. It fits well, ventilation works well (I occasionally put my hood up because my head gets cold), and seems to do a decent job of protecting my noggin.

My only complaint so far is the goggle clip, which is a total afterthought on an otherwise well-designed helmet. It doesn't hold your goggle strap in place very well and fell off during the first wreck I had. So I ordered another one and superglued it on. The second clip has held so far, but catches on stuff in my ski bag and I expect I'll break it eventually.

One trick I have found is to use the extra velcro dots that came with the helmet to help hold my ski goggle in place. They seem to be working okay so far.

I'll give it another star in a few months if the helmet holds up well to summer use.

My head measurement is about 22.5", the medium fits perfectly, no strange pressure points on my head (I'm certainly not a Swede, however, I may seem a little alienish to some) . The sizes can very from line to line. In the other models the larges had a better fit; receptor bug, frontal, skull light.

Could have saved myself $40 if I had ordered it from BC, but I wanted to try it on @ a local shop and then figured.... eh, why not support the local economy from time to time.
