Description
Protecting a wide range of head sizes over and over again.
- The overlapping double shell technology features an aramid ballistic penetration barrier, so you don't get jabbed by branches
- Eight vents draw in cool air between shell layers and expel hot air out, keeping the comfortable flow going while shredding; they also close for cold days
- The size adjustment ensures a safe and snug fit with the help of a soft, adjustable chin strap
- A liner aids breathability and wicks the excess moisture of a boot pack or hot lap down the front side
- A hard outer shell, a polycarbonate and EPS inner shell, and an in-mold SEPP foam liner provide strong, lightweight protection in case you tumble through the trees
- The SEPP liner withstands multiple impacts, so you don't compromise its effectiveness after just one fall
- Compatible with almost all goggles types

I love the look of this gear. Took it out over Easter weekend for final session of the season and I bought the M/L. I have a an average size head never wearing extra large hats. The receptor bug felt really tight first time I put it on and I made some adjustments. It really disappeared while skiing but I still though I may need the bigger size. BC was really cool and sent me the bigger size but it proved a lot bigger. I sent it back and kept the M/L. These helmets fit so well that I realized all other helmets were too big. Solid pick up! Fit great with the goggles as well although I don't get the goggle clip. Kind of a lame design.

Has anyone else had problems with the color of the helmet fading? I bought this helmet and have worn it a total of 4 times and I already have a very distinct google line. It doesn't seem like the color should fade that dramatically after 4 days...

In my search for a snowboarding helmet...
I bought the standard Receptor in medium but soon returned it after trying it on. The fit was good, but I felt slight pressure at the temples. I new it would only get tighter with activity.
Decided to buy the Skull Light next. This was a mistake as I felt my head being sausaged into the medium helmet. Whatever head shape it is built for, I do not have it. Did not like this helmet AT ALL and returned that ASAP.
Bought the Receptor Adjustable in medium and man oh man, what a sweet helmet. Perfect fitment with no tight spots or pressure points. The adjusting strap is a genius design, and easily manipulated with gloved hands. Provides a comfortable fit that, just like others have mentioned, makes the helmet 'disappear' off your head. Absolutely love it!
If you are considering a Receptor helmet and don't know which to chose, here is my humble opinion. I would try the standard helmet on at your favorite ski lodge pro shop. If it is tight in ANY area, go with the adjustable helmet instead. Remember, a helmet should be SNUG (not tight) and remain comfortable at the same time!
Hope this helps :)

Lightweight, I love the adjustability; it lets you get it set just right where it feels like it kind of disappears on your head. Keeps your goggles in just the right place, and you can't argue with the awesome colors.

is this helmet florescent orange? I ordered one this summer that was listed as "orange" but on the box the color was "florescent orange;" and it was very florescent, so I returned it..... what about the orange receptor bug? is it the same color of orange? real pics of these helemts would be super useful.....

No so florescent, but it is quite bright orange - I just saw it at one of the sno-haus'es. Picture orange vests used by road maintenance workers.

The receptor bug is just one exact size, but the adjustable you can get a more snug fit, and if your still growing you can make it larger. i prefer the adjustable for the snug fit

This helmet fits nearly any head perfectly, the adjustable strap makes it work great with my goggles under and over the helmet. It is very light weight and after a few minutes of wearing it i forget it is even there, great helmet for skiing/boarding in the winter, and skating/ mountain biking in the summer. Best helmet i have ever worn.
