Truly frameless.
Other companies may refer to their goggles as frameless, but POC has definitely raised the bar here. The POC Lid Goggle is the first true 'frameless' goggle that we've ever seen, and it's a beauty. Aside from style, the frameless design has a couple of advantages. Firstly, it's easier to clear snow and ice from the lens because there's no frame to catch it. Secondly, the goggle provides a virtually unlimited range of peripheral vision because there's no frame to get in the way. And, of course, there's that 22nd-century look.
The dual optical-grade lenses get the most sophisticated anti-scratch and anti-fog treatments available. The soft-coated polyurethane frame teams up with the triple-density face foam for a gap-free, super-comfortable fit, and the silicone grip on the inside of the goggle strap keeps the strap from sliding up and down on your helmet.

Great fit and field of vision
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
I love the fit and they never fogged up. Plus the large field vision helps you see more as you speed down the mountain.

AlexThe Lid actually looks a lot more like the Cornea, but without the wings on the sides. Compared to the Lobes, the Lid has a flat lens and the Lobes has a spherical lens (kind of bubbled out for better optic quality). Both are frameless. But again, they look totally different. The Lid looks like the Cornea, not much like the Lobes.
Laura FGearheadQuestion regarding lens choice, can you give some detail on what lens to choose for regular East Coast use?
For instance, the Lead Blue/Persimmon/Red Mirror is that a Persimmon lens with a Red Mirror appearance on the outside? Is the Hydrogen White Bronze/Silver Mirror a clear lens, and how does it compare to the Bohrium Red/Bronze/Silver Mirror; just different strap? Are they bronze lens or clear? Are they the same?
How do all of these compare to each other/conditions?

Robert W.Check out Laura Feaslers answer to Alex. The Lobes have a spherical lens which in my mind makes them way better than a flat lens. I cant find any info on the lens descriptions so I am going to go to the source. Ill be in touch after our rep from POC gets back to me.
Bill PorrecaGearheadRob, I am going to quote our Black Diamond rep, these are the people who own POC.
"The first color refers to the strap and frame color, the second color is the lens color, and the last color is the outside coating (i.e. mirror coating). The best go-to all conditions colors are the Pink and the Persimmon lens colors. They come in with a Visible Light Transmittance (VLT) of 32 and 41. Pink may be a little light on the super bright days but the Persimmon (VLT 41) would work for all."
The lens pink with a gold coating has a VLT of 32
Bronze with a silver coating has a VLT of 31
Persimmon with a red coating has a VLT of 41
Sonar orange has a VLT of 39
Black has a VLT of 7.
Variable light transmission or VLT refers to how much light is allowed through. So the black with a VLT of 7 is meant for super sunny days where Persimmon is meant for more overcast days.

JP RamboAccording to POC these should be about the size of the Smith I/O goggles, so just a little bit bigger than the I/OS that you are rocking now. Still a good fit for a narrow/smaller face.
