They’ve only been around five years, but POC has in that time set a new standard for personal protection on the slopes. The POC Frontal Helmet, developed in conjunction with freeskiing phenom Jon Olsson, offers an optimal combination of comfort, ventilation, and protection. This hard shell/in-mold hybrid helmet includes multiple ventilation systems to keep your noggin cool.
- The proprietary VDSAP double-shell system not only provides extra protection, but transports air between the two layers of shell front-to-back
- Six ventilation holes on top are adjustable from the outside
- The in-mold design, Aramid mid-membrane, and impact-absorbing EPS liner protect the head in multiple-impact crashes, so you can go big with confidence
- A fit system in the rear allows you to easily fine-tune the size of the helmet

You would need a L/XL in the Frontal, my head is about the same size, and it is a snug, but not necessarily uncomfortable fit. But a helmet should be a snug fit to be effective in a crash. The vent on top has a slider to open/close, but it is recessed and a little stiff to operate, you'll probably have to take your gloves off. It's a nice helmet, kind of big, but you can tell it will do it's job if you need it to.
