    Airflow to increase your snow-flow.

Developed in conjunction with freeski phenom Jon Olsson, the POC Frontal Helmet is all about comfort. This hybrid hardshell/inmold helmet design focuses on ventilation, with three different ventilation zones working together to create a constant cool flow through the helmet to reduce fatigue and make sure you get a full days-worth of skiing.

Great helmet, not a universal fit.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

While I L O V E the fit and the look of this helmet, I have seen others with heads of different shapes having trouble with the fit of this particular model. I think Smith helmets have a more universal fit, if you want to play it safe. Still, 5 stars from me!!

    Safe and comfortable

Great feeling helmet. GS legal for use in USSA and FIS races with the soft ear feel you get from a more comfortable park helmet. The outer shell dents pretty easily on impact when you clip a GS gate, but even so a good looking and comfortable race legal helmet is pretty hard to find. Not really an issue if your just using it as a freeski helmet. Job well done POC, now if the shell could be a little more resistant to denting it would be perfect. Pictured is my sister Whitney sporting the POC Frontal on the podium at the at copper mountain Skier Cross FIS noram (with the always fashionable goat sticker). She took a good spill in that race going through a couple sets of safety netting, but the Frontal did its job and did it well keeping her skull safe and secure.

      Good for more oval heads

This is a POC helmet, so it has a top-of-the-line safety-minded construction. A few particulars that can be useful for making a purchasing decision: the fit is more oval than POC Scull, but less oval than ReceptorBUG. The helmet itself is pretty big, so nothing inconspicuous about it. One thing POC still cannot figure out is the goggle clip. It is useless for Smith goggles, barely fits Oakley goggle, and is a PITA to use even with POC's own goggles. I bleive the implicit assumption is that you are going to wear your goggles new school style (i.e. under the helmet). Overall a good helmet, but stops short of greatness.
