    Ridin' in the rain.

It's near-impossible to stay dry riding in the rain, but POC's AVIP Rain Booties are a step in the right direction. The reflective rear zippers let you pull the PU Rexion booties easily over your shoes, and the wind- and water-resistant construction helps keep water out of your shoes so you have one less thing to worry about. The toe is reinforced to prevent blowouts, while the fluorescent design and reflective logos give you an extra shot of visibility in low-light conditions.

    Needs redesigned

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

Feet still got wet...(not soaked). inside cuff where zipper ends rubbed the back of my legs raw. I would recommend a flap the covers the finished nylon (melted edges) once zipped is shut.

    Too Small

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: medium

These booties look great and are exactly what we were hoping; the problem is the size medium doesn't even begin to stretch the toe to heel length of our size 7 women and size 9 men biking shoes. We don't have the slim bike only shoes, but clip on shoes with slightly more width. SO disappointed. It appears they don't come in extra large :-( which might fit our men's shoe. Also, it would be great if there was another color choice - basic black with reflective parts would be great.

    Great visibility, questionable materials

I purchased these booties for the off-chance of rain here in Northern California. As luck (?) would have it, it rained 2 days after buying the booties. I wore them 2 days in a row, each on 65+ mile rides through light rain and mist/fog. Everyone in the group commented on the incredible visibility of my feet as I pedaled through some pretty low viz days, including heavy fog. Clearly, POC got this really, really right.

As far as weather resistance, my feet stayed nice and dry, and never got too hot in the 50-55 degree weather.

There are a few concerns, though: 1. a small hole developed on day 2, which was enough to let some water in when I tested them in the sink that night (though seemed to be dry after riding in very light rain earlier that day). 2. if wearing socks that do not extend over the top of the bootie, there is a bit of uncomfortable material backing the zipper that abraded my calf.

I'm exchanging these for a new pair and will test the durability again to see if they last over time and use. As far as being functional, the high visibility and waterproofness are great. We'll see how the materials hold up, and if the next pair has the same discomfort issue (which would likely result in loss of a star).

I wear a size 42.5 Giro road shoe and these fit fine in size L. Could have been a little bit tighter, but I'd imagine the M would be a bit too constricting.
