    Go the Extra Miles.

When your riding reaches a level where you’re cranking out double- and even triple-digit rides three to five times a week, you need all the support you can get. The Pinarello Tour bib short is designed to keep you cool and dry for hours, even in the heat of summer. It’s also built to support your muscles while they work and reduce fatigue that’s caused by constant vibration and impact.

The Tour’s main body fabric is 250g Power Lycra. This is a true compressive material that not only reduces the effects of road vibration, which can cause fatigue, but it also promotes bloodflow and protects muscles during long periods of high exertion. On the core contour system, Ametista fabric brings 200g/m2 of gently supportive compression to your waist and core. It also incorporates carbon filaments, which reinforce the honeycomb-knit Lycra, allowing for a lighter build that retains the strength of a heavier material. The carbon implants impart antimicrobial properties, and Pinarello claims that they also absorb atmospheric electrical interference for an increased anaerobic output and a delayed onset of fatigue.

The shorts' body is kept in place by the usual bibs up top and the decidedly unusual 190 E leg bands down low. The 190 E bands spread a soft, non-restrictive, and gently compressive grip across the 7.5 centimeter-wide cuffs. A silicone application is used throughout these bands to help keep everything in place. The LoPro 0 used in the front and shoulders of the bibs is the distant, less-restrictive cousin to the LoPro 30 and 45 materials that Giordana uses in the cuffs and armbands of other items. The straps are hem-less for a perfectly flat fit that doesn't show through your jersey. At the shoulder blades, the LoPro is mated to 190 Mesh, which is soft and breathable with a barely-there feel that complements the band of ventilated Antigua material between the shorts' body and bibs.

The chamois is the Cirro OmniForm (O.F.). It incorporates aloe vera particles for natural antimicrobial properties with a pleasant cooling side effect. The Cirro's 4mm-thick pad of waffled-texture expanding memory foam actively ushers moisture to the perimeter of the chamois to speed evaporation and limit bacteria-prone dampness. The final layer of the chamois is a thick section of hand-sewn open cell padding with recessed channels for pressure relief.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: medium

i was having serious issues with chronic saddle sores and lessor shorts weren't getting it done. so i purchased these bibs and two pair of assos bibs and the saddle sores vanished within weeks.
the build quality of these bibs (made by giordano) is every bit as good as the build quality on the assos s7. i'm 5'6" and weigh 140 pounds, with a robust backyard. i got mediums in the assos and these, and the pinarello bibs are notably more snug, providing more compression than the assos. on a scale of 1 to 10 i give the assos bib's chamois a ten, these a solid 9, and the LG fit sensors a 4.
considering these bibs cost $50 less than the assos im comparing them to, theyre a great value imo.
and did i mention that they look *fantastic.* they look painted on and the red band on one leg and the Italian tab on the back of the left is noticeable without being gaudy.
luckily my amazing girlfriend is a cyclist and she waxes poetic about how great these bibs look and fit. so i ensure these are ready to go for my weekend rides with her.
thank you pinarello and thank you CC
