Rider 10 Jetforce Pack

Whether you're venturing far into the backcountry or just going through the gates at the resort, you can never be too prepared when it comes to avalanche safety. The Pieps Rider 10 Jetforce Pack features an airbag that deploys in seconds, should the worst occur, to help you stay on the surface of a slide. The Rider 10 is the smallest pack in the Jetforce lineup, making it the ideal choice for light-and-fast tours and outside-the-boundaries riding at the resort.

The jet-fan rotor spins at 60,000 revolutions per minute to fully inflate the 200-liter airbag in less than three seconds, reducing your chances of being buried and protecting you from blunt force trauma in the event of a slide. After being deployed, periodic refilling ensures the bag stays inflated even if there's a small tear or leak. After three minutes, the airbag automatically deflates, which not only reduces pressure on the user, but can also create an air pocket in the snow during a full burial.

In addition to making it easier and cheaper to use and train with, the fan-powered deployment system also means you can take it on planes without having to acquire canisters at your destination. In an effort to take safety precautions a step further, Pieps incorporated an electronic system that performs a system check on every startup and does additional checks while armed to ensure that everything is operational before you drop in.
