Pieps paired its pocket-sized Freeride Beacon and the state-of-the-art iProbe to create the Pieps iProbe Freeride package. Together they’re well-suited for the resort skier who often ventures off-piste and into the sidecountry. The tiny, lightweight Freeride Beacon slips right into your pocket and you can forget it’s there—until it helps you feel extra secure about laying down some glorious first tracks. In the event of a slide, the accompanying iProbe beeps to let you know when you get close to buried victims.

  • Freeride Beacon weighs in at 3.9 ounces and is just a couple inches wide
  • Digital 1-antenna system offers 40 meter signal receiving range
  • Beacon operation is clear and straightforward
  • iProbe is the first avalanche probe to electronically communicate with victims’ beacons, which cuts probing time dramatically and lets you start digging faster
  • Probe helps guide you closer to victims, starting with a beep and LED indication that you’re within two meters, and then a continuous beep that indicates you’re within 50cm
  • If victims are using compatible Pieps beacons, you can actually press a button on the iProbe to turn off their signals when you start digging, which allows you to focus exclusively on the next victim’s signal

Bottom Line: Pocket-sized protection and a super-fast probe at a great price.

Hi, got a question? Ask on the Product Wall.

Which set is better? Is it better to have the "iProbe+Freeride"

Which set is better? Is it better to have the "iProbe+Freeride" set or "regular probe+DSP" combo?

We own two Pieps Freeride transceivers and my friends are always bragging about the search speed with their 3-antenna beacons. We have tried couple training searches with the Freeride device and we were able to find the hidden device quickly with just a little bit of zig-zagging. I am considering buying the iProbe, because this could help to speed up the actual probing or is it better to buy a 3-antenna beacon instead?

There are more aspects to consider, but I wanted to ask this generic question.
