Even though the Pieps DSP Smart Transmitter feels like cheating in the event of a rescue—there is no cheating when it comes to digging out your best buddy. Pieps is the pioneer of the 3-antenna system and has been defining the term ‘exact’ when it comes to locating a buried victim. The Smart Transmitter provides superior results in multiple burial searches by eliminating signal overlap and synchronizing signal reception with other beacons for increased speed. All of which allows you to concentrate on finding your buddy—which means you can dig faster and search less.

Bottom Line: There's no such thing as a sure thing in an avalanche, but the Pieps DSP increases your chance of success.

Great avalanche beacon. Easy to use, easy to learn, and the mulitple burial icon is the best I have seen on any beacon. Would recommend this beacon to anybody.

Fantastic Beacon

I just bought a second one so I could donate my older one (still fully functional) to a friend. The DSP is the fastest 3-antenna beacon I've used. I've tried the tracker, tracker 2, and ortovox 3+. It's also the easiest to use -- especially in multi-burial practice with the flag function. If you want the best, the DSP is the way to go. Trust your LIFE SUPPORT equipment to no one else.

Fastest search time on the market in tests, longer range than the BCA Tracker 2. Had the 2007 for several years and I outperform my buddies in practice searches.

Don't take my word for it, see the 33 reviews on the 2007 model at the bottom of this page.

Shocked to see this one didn't have reviews

Superb Beacon

After doing extensive research online and using different beacons in the field, I decided to get this beacon - I couldn't be happier with my purchase. This beacon is very quick to pick up signals and very easy to read/follow to a buried victim. It came out of the box with the V8.2 Firmware, which is completely upgradeable (fantastic feature). I highly recommend this beacon for anyone who travels in the backcountry (skiers, boarders, snowmobilers, etc...)
