All the light you'll need.

Slide the incredibly powerful Petzl Ultra Rush Headlamp around your skull and you're suddenly strapped to a miniature sun. Four different lighting modes let you choose the perfect amount of light and burn time for what you're doing. While 'minimum' or 'economic' modes are probably sufficient for a long night hike, you'll probably want to switch to 'optimal' or 'maximum' mode if you're blasting down singletrack on your bike at midnight.

  • Ultra-powerful 700 lumens in 'maximum' mode illuminates up to 140 meters
  • Four different modes allow you to optimize for burn time and power
  • Rotating mode selector is easy to use even with gloves on
  • Front and back comfort plates for hours of comfortable wear
  • Constant lighting for stable lighting performance throughout the life of the battery
  • Three modes adapt to any situation where lighting is needed
  • Chemicals that will not affect PIXA 3R's performance include soap & water, bleach, 95˚ alcohol, solvents, white spirit, fuel, paint, adhesives, grease, or hydraulic gear oil
  • Fully recharges in about 3 hours
  • Battery charge status indicator eliminates guesswork
  • Incomplete use and recharging does not reduce battery performance, so you can recharge it whenever you like
  • Battery resists cold well and discharges very little during prolonged storage
  • Configurable lighting means you can optimize for burn time and lumen output in any mode, depending on the job
  • Helmet mounting plate included
  • Reserve lighting mode gets you out of a bad spot with batteries almost dead

Expensive batteries have short life

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Batteries are very expensive and they hold up only about a year. Petzl doesn't respond to my concerns about poor battery life. I've spent hundreds on replacement batteries before finally getting an AY UP light - $60.00 batteries that last a couple of years. The Petzl Ultra lamps put out great light but the battery life ruins the system. Don't take one of these in a cave without a pocket full of spare batteries.

I agree with the above...batteries are poor and petzl is distant at best with customer service. Great light but a great light is useless without a battery. Might as well drag a cord along with you into that cave! it would cost less and be less hastle
