    Adjustable hand rest.

Use the Petzl Trigrest Hand Rest when you need to cross over or choke up before a big move. Since it has a tool-less adjustment system, it's easy to slide this hand rest up and out of the way when you need the shaft to go in deep on alpine climbs. In the low position, this hand rest provides a brace for your index to boost grip strength and planting precision. The Trigrest works with the Petzl Quark, Nomic, and Ergo, and it weighs 19 grams.

    Unanswered Question

I am hoping to use this Petzl Adjustable Hand Rest to be retrofitted as a grip rest at the base of the shaft of a Charlet Moser (later Petzl) Pulsar? (the Pulsar was produced just before the Quark and is rather similar in shaft dimensions) First of, which size of the 2 options offered above is larger in circumference? To form a secure fit I can use wraps of grip tape beneath the new Trigrest Handrest to take up any space. BTW, I would be installing this product as a fixed-position pommel grip and would not be sliding it to other positions on the shaft. Thank you for your assistance.

So I tried to fabricate my own nice trigrest on my older petzl quarks. but the dimensions of the shaft are a bit off making the trigger release and slide function impossible. Does anyone have ideas on how to make this happen? Would a little sanding/grinding in just the right place make this a reality?
