The Petzl Tikkina 2 Headlamp weighs almost nothing, lasts up to 190 hours and shines up to 23 meters to get the job done for hikers, backpackers, and climbers. Two LED bulbs feature high and low modes to let you save batteries or give you more power depending on your needs.
Bottom Line: Ready when you need it and light enough to bring it.

Is the Tikkina 2 tiltable or not? The specs say no, but the first reviewer (E. Nill) says is is. I was given a Tikka 2 for Christmas and like it very much, but find the flashing feature unnecessary for my usage, and a bit annoying. I want to get another for my wife, but it would need the tilting feature.
Classic Petzl quality. Good cheap headlamp. But the color was so off. I bought this as a Christmas present, hoping it would be pink-ish. Well it's much darker than the pictured, the band atleast. So I'd say its a classic rose red; Petzl says that would be french rose.
Honestly this is by far my favorite light, I have a higher end Petzl and a Mammut X-zoom, and don't get me wrong, they both kick ass, but in terms of weight and ease of use, lets face it, I don't always need a huge fancy light to..light the way! Plenty bright for around camp at night and where I don't really hike at night, this works fine! Nice and light, nice and simple, and the colours make me giddy!
Can't complain for $20. Perfect for that "oh crap!" moment when your driving past an REI and remember you forgot your lamp at home. Pretty bright! It does have a tiltable housing actually. So if you don't have a lamp and don't wanna drop more than an Andrew Jackson, get this one!
Love the colour. Provides ample lighting, to a wide area (large lens area). Has a high and low setting. Has tiltable housing, but only tilts maybe 60 degrees, versus some lamps that you can swivel all the way up or down. You can point this one down, but to point up you'd have to take it off and put it on upside down. Because of this it's great for hiking and general use around the campsite, but it wouldn't be the best choice for climbing or caving. (if you were looking for a headlight that will swivel up and down at a lower price, check out some princeton tec fuel headlamps)
Couldn't ask for a better headlamp for the price. Plenty of light for those walks in the dark whether it is a night hike or a walk to the restroom. Would not recommend for biking as it just does not provide the distance night vision necessary to see obstacles well in advance of their arrival, but great for the average person who is looking for a little light at night.
It's nothing special, but it gets the job done. First-click=bright, another=less-bright. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it included batteries.
As a starter level, relatively inexpensive headlamp, the Petzl Tikkina gets a 5 star rating. Comfortable and easily adjustable headband, dual light settings, long battery life, tiltable housing and water resistance all make for a great deal on an everyday headlamp. If you plan on spelunking, spend more money. If you plan on casual hiking, working under the house and reading in bed, buy this one. 23 lumens is enough to light up a dark room or illuminate a campsite, but will not blind your friends and family.I've read some complaints about flickering, but so far this hasn't been an issue for me. Overall a solid and lightweight piece of gear.
Contrary to what the Tech Specs say for this product, it does actually have tiltable housing. This headlamp is nice and simple, no crazy bells and whistles. It as a dimmer setting which is nice. Sleek and simple. That's what I like.
This was my first headlamp after considering getting one for a long time. I haven't regretted it a single bit, it has been great and much brighter than I expected. Definately recommended.
This is nice, basic headlamp. If you don't need extra features, and just want something simple to do typical chores around camp, this is a great purchase. I have nicer/brighter headlamps, but find myself reaching for this one first almost every time. It's light, compact, and provides sufficient light for most tasks. I rarely find myself ever needing more than the low beam. Excellent value.
Bought this in September 2011, and have used it a handful of times. Fine for early morning dark runs, but the true test was an overnight team running relay: 6 miles along pitch black country roads. Did an excellent job of helping me see my path (and not trip over anything). The fact that the light tilts is clutch - can point it down towards the ground, which is better than lamps that only point forward. A great purchase.
Simple, inexpensive, reliable. this is a very straight forward head lamp without all the unnecessary bells and whistles. i use it as my secondary headlamp and keep it in my truck at all times. it works great as a cheaper, water-resistant, collar lamp for my dog too. he loves it and its not expensive, so i cant get angry if he managed to break it.
This headlamp is awesome. I got it for a backpacking trip a few weeks ago and it was wonderful. You can tip the headlamp up and down, I don't think that said that in the description. The color is super cool too, I got the pink color, which turned out a little more red than the picture showed. A very good purchase.
this is my favorite headlamp by far. I have 2 others that have more lcd's but i can't take this one off. I lost it while traveling in Honduras this summer and I had to buy another...matter of fact...I bought 3 more. Love it
This light get's the job done. It is small, light weight, and came with Energizers (and it's now only 16 bucks). The head band is made of quality elastic which has a bit of grip. The tilt mechanism locks solidly into place. I like that it only has two settings, high and low (who really needs a flashing SOS and strobe modes?). The beam is not focused, so it casts bright light only about 30 feet. However, the light is great for up close work and general campsite lighting.
does exactly what it's intended to do. its got two settings, a high and low so to speak. you can adjust the light. adjustable strap to custominze to fit to head. great product.
Got a bunch of these for some kids we do Canyon night roasts with. They are fantastic, they fit the kids nicely, are pretty dang bright and come in great colors. Plus the kids absolutely love them and we can spot them wherever they go.
The beam for this headlamp is bright, but it's very focused so I ended up going for the PrincetonTec Quad because it was waterproof and had a wider spread of light. Good price point on the Petzl, though, and definitely very light.
Purchased for two kids, a 5 y.o. and a 3 y.o. for "spy gear". Fit was great, can accomodate even the smallest of noggins. Lights appear to be very bright, with two brightness levels available. Quality appears to be good.
This is a great little headlamp- functional, light weight, and a powerful light source for the number of LEDs and lower price point. They must taste great too 'cause my dog keeps eating them...
Good backup lamp for the cost, but don't ever use as a primary light source. The lumens are terribly low and I just got frustrated trying to use it night climbing the first time. Get something with at least 40 lumens (i think this one is around 20 or less).
It's a small little headlamp but for basic uses such as setting up camp, hiking, or even a little dawn patrol touring, it gets the job done. You can't beat the price!
I bought this headlamp along with BD's Gizmo and I like it alot more. It's noticeably brighter. The Tikkina's dim setting is as bright if not brighter than the Gizmo's high beam setting. The strap is thick and soft and feels good on the head. The one thing I don't like about it, is that it doesn't have a blink setting. Overall, very good buy for the price and this will get you through any camping/backpacking trip.
