Legitimate low-pro lighting power.

The Petzl Tikka XP Headlamp is a workhorse of a headlamp for outdoor enthusiasts of every kind. The same as the Tikka+ but with 180 lumens of lighting power instead of 150, this sharp little light provides constant lighting all day long, with three different beams, five modes, and even two modes for its red light, so you can use it for nighttime hikes, runs, reading, and discrete missions when you don't want to wake up your tentmate. Petzl also designed the Tikka with Constant Lighting, so it won't dim as the batteries lose juice. The water-resistant housing makes sure the light stays strong in rainy weather, and the Tikka's multiple-battery compatibility lets you use your favorite power source without worry.

Dependable enlightenment

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My go to headlamp for when the darkness creeps in. Multiple light strength settings. One touch easy on off and setting switches. Petzl dependability. #goatworthy

Let there be light!

After going through multiple Walmart headlamps, it was time for me to invest in an actual headlamp. For being a relatively simple design, I was impressed by the amount of functions and options it had while still being very user-friendly! This Petzl Tikka XP headlamp has multiple brightness settings so you can see into the distance and avoid blinding your friends when you're hanging around a campsite. The lightweight nature and snug fit make it perfect for a multi day backpacking trip or when you're trying to set up your tent in the dark.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I own the myo rxp. Beautiful focused beam and focused flood. Led evenly disperse's light beautifully! Awhile back I purchased and returned the newer version of the rxp. It too! Was SPLOTCHY un focused no centered led focus. You could see the led under, part way under the reflector. The tikka xp I recently purchased was no different. I returned that the next day. Petzl's quality control is something to be desired. I love my old myo rxp 215 led programable headlamp! Petzl needs to stop mass production of their headlamps and slow down and re-enforce their quality control!

    Petzl Tikka XP Headlamp

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Just replaced an Petzl that was 5+ years old... fits great, batteries last forever. If you are looking for a great headlamp this is it and probably no need to go with a more expensive model.

    Love this thing.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

In the little bit of time that I have owned this headlamp, I have already managed to use and rely upon this heavily for all sorts of different things. Prepping for fishing in the early morning. Razor clamming on the beach at night. Splitting wood and doing outside stuff in the dark. Wrenching under the truck. Wrenching under the car. Regardless of the application, this thing produces just the right amount of light and fits comfortably and is dead-simple to operate. The 3-AAA batteries seem to last for an impressive amount of time on either the bright or ultra-bright setting(s) and they pretty much last forever on the dim/low setting.

As of this time, I have zero recommendations for ways in which this product could be improved and I would absolutely recommend this to anyone in need of a good, all-purpose headlamp.
