If you have been looking for a drytool-specific pick for your Quark Ergo ice tool, then the Petzl Quad Ice Pick is the way to go. Take off the picks your Qurak came with and replace them with the Quad for amazing mixed-climbing performance. The Quad has an angled first tooth for improved hooking and a serrated top for secure steinpulling. This beefy 4mm pick holds up to tons of abuse.

Bottom Line: The Quad is a beefy pick for hard mixed climbing.

Great pick for ice and dry

I dig petzl and BD for ice climbing gear, but I gotta go with Petzl for the ice and dry climbing picks. The shape and teeth really make a difference.

Necessary for mixed climbing

The default Quark ice picks are the Cascade Ice Picks (Type B). The Cascades aren't as durable as the Quads Ice Picks (Type T). They aren't as thick as the Quads and their tips are sharp for better ice penetration, but they will get damaged if you bang them on rock. The Quads aren't as good for ice. They are thicker and the tips aren't as sharp. But if you want to save your default Ice Picks (the Cascades) that come with your Quark ice tools during mixed climbing, then I'd recommend investing in getting these built for mixed climbing ice picks.
