Pro Traxion Pulley

The Petzl Pro Traxion Pulley easily hauls large bags up big walls with ease so you aren't pumped out for the next pitch. This pulley allows you to install a rope to it while being connected to an anchor in order to eliminate the possibility of dropping it when you're setting it up. Petzl mounted the large-diameter sheave on the sealed ball bearings to provide excellent efficiency, and the lower connection point creates different types of hauling systems so you can get your gear in the best way possible. Side plate locks prevent the pulley from opening while you use it, and the toothed cam has a self-cleaning slot that ensures excellent performance regardless of the conditions of the weather and the rope.

Better than a mini because....

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

There's a couple reasons why I prefer this to the Mini Traxion. 1st, and foremost, the little hole on the backplate of the device which allows you to thread come cord into the release and allows for remote use and lowering capability in a hauling scenario. 2nd, 2 holes for carabiners. 3rd, Rope diamater compatibility, 8-13mm for the pro vs. 8-11mm for the mini. 4th, it's more bomber, more kilanewtents. and lastly the pulley itself is bigger. For all that, it's marginally heavier and 20 dollars more expensive. I think, if your plunking down 130 dollars, another 20 for some more functionality, is worth the cost. Not to mention the Pro meets UL and NFPA standards, means it's approved for rescue and fire use, that alone for me is worth the 20. Only draw back is the device is carabiner sensitive. Petzl recommends several of it's own which are compatible. I use CAMP oval lockers.
