Pair Petzl's Pantin Foot Ascender with the Croll, Ascension, or Ascentree, and jug up big wall climbs faster and easier than ever before. This handy little device works just like the ascenders at your hands or waist—with a toothed cam that bites into static ropes for a secure ascent—but Dyneema straps attach to your climbing shoes or boots for a foot-worthy ascent.

- Dyneema strap with DoubleBack adjustable buckle
- Available in left- and right-footed versions

- Q & A
I use this for every climb now.
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
This is not a primary point of attachment!! The teeth are held to the rope by a spring and no locking mechanism. This is an assisting device to be used in tandem with other vertical gear.
I bought the Pantin because a friend recommended for a weeklong TAG trip I was planning. You notice immediately that climbing out of a pit with a frog system using a Pantin is so much easier than without this device. There's none of the standard pinching the rope between your feet to feed your Croll; the Pantin holds the rope at your foot and your Croll feeds SO easily. Should you find yourself at a difficult lip, you can kick one foot out of your foot loop and hold yourself away from the rock while you use the Pantin to give yourself the push needed to shift your top ascender.
I love this thing. It's so small and inconspicuous but it really can make all the different on big climbs or close-to-the-wall ascents.
