The Petzl Meteor III Helmet holds the honor of being one of the most ventilated and lightweight climbing helmets on the planet at a weight of only 8.3 ounces. Have you ever laughed at someone who lost their glasses on their face? Well, this helmet is so comfortable to wear that the same thing often happens—you forget it's on your head. Sixteen vents cut into the ultralight plastic and closed-cell foam shell keep air flowing, so you don't overheat on your latest project. Its ratchet strap fits nearly any head size, and adjusts easily when you need to put on a stocking hat.

Bottom Line: The Petzl Meteor III Helmet weighs so little you may forget you have it on your head.

I haven't utilized the helmet to its full extent yet. Just rubbed it up against an overhand here and there as I was ascending, but it saved me from the ouchy. I'm sure it'll do the trick in the event I really need it.

Super light and the fit is excellent. sucks it's getting old.

I have an odd shaped head and this helmet actually adjusts to fit my head, and it's extremely comfortable! It is the lightest helmet I have ever worn, and it allows for a full range of motion. I can tilt my head all the way back without the helmet touching my neck or back. Great helmet!

Wicked light, low profile, comfortable, and easily adjustable. The only downside is that it dents and scratches easier than some other helmets. Other than that, excellent helmet!

Light as a feather

This is a sweet helmet!! It is the lightest thing I've ever picked up. I don't even realize its on my head! Also, The contoured shape of the back of this helmet lets me look straight up and the helmet doesn't hit my back, or get in the way if I have my bag on!!! The only thing is that I wouldn't use a foam helmet for ice climbing or caving.
