Petzl Corax II Harness - Men's - 2007 BCS

The function and ease of use of the Corax II are great. The only reason I'm writing a two star review is to steer people away who have a similar body type as me, or to at least tell people to sit in it before purchasing. I'm really skinny, about 6'0 ft with a 30 inch waist, so I bought a size 1. The size 1 fits well in the waist, but bunches up and chafes pretty bad. I think I need a bit more length/room that the size 2 offers, but the size 1 waist. If your body type is similar to mine, you may want to look into an individual sizing system (S,M,L) rather than their two size fits all deal.

Incredibly comfortable. I've been in a Black Diamond Blizzard for three years and like this one better. Great for long trad/alpine/ice routes or working a hard problem. Only draw back: Leg loops don't extend much compared to waist size adjustment. Still, I have big legs and there's enough room for layers. A really big guy might have problems.

This is the first harness that I have owned and it does not disappoint. It is a very comfortable harness that is very easy to adjust. The only minor issue I have noticed is that the front two gear loops can be a little difficult clip gear onto when you are hanging in the harness. This is only a very minor issue. Overall this is an excellent harness and when I purchase another harness there is a very good chance it will be another Corax.

comfort and functionality: two important things in a harness and this one is top notch in both departments. i'm a chunky guy, thus buckles on both sides ensures that the harness is always centered. it's also really nice that you don't have to completely undo the buckles to step in/out... just cinch. i believe the older corax didn't have the haul loop, but they obviously did their homework when they designed this one... they put one in. this lives up to the petzel reputation.

This harness is a lot more comfortable than the one that I had before it (Black Diamond Momentum). I like having a stiff gear loop in the front and flexible loops in the back. I haven't noticed the quick-release buckles creeping at all. Overall, a great harness for long trad climbs.
