Snowballing on crampons is an annoying and often dangerous problem. Petzl Antisnow Plates keeps snow from sticking to the bottom of your crampons. The amount of traction you gain will be amazing when all of your points are actually in the ice.
Bottom Line: It's hard to walk with three pounds of snow on each foot.
Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

It seems worth noting that Petzl crampons now come with these included. So don't make the mistake I did and buy the antibots as well.

M10 do not come with anti snow plates

Perhaps some Petzl crampons come with antibots, but my M10s arrived today and did not come with plates included. Ask the retailer first.
