Perfect sport climbing harness
Solid All-Around Performer
I think the Adjama is a great harness, especially for beginners. It's super adjustable to accomodate everything from summer sport climbing, big wall in the fall, and ice climbing. The theory of fabric loops in back so they don't interfere with your pack is great, though i've since had plastic loops in back with no issue. Only issue might be that the straps don't breathe the best. I have yet to find a harness that feels cool though.
There are harnesses better suited to only sport(lighter) or only multi-pitch(more padding), but as long as it keeps you from decking, it did it's job. Great durability too.
Great harness for sport climbing
- Gender: Male
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I love my Adjama Harness fits great and love the adjust ability. Gear loops are sturdy and easy to clip and unclip while trade or sport climbing. Only issue I've had with this harness is sitting in a hanging belay for longer than 15 to 20 minutes just puts my ass to sleep and getting too much gear hanging on it will drag the thing off my waist, which really isn't the harness' fault it's probably just time to get a gear sling instead. For epic trad climbs I'd opt for something with a wider waist belt like the Petzl Calidris.
I just climbed in this harness for the first time today and it was great! Super comfy and appears to be pretty durable, but I will re-post in a couple months.

So far, love the harness. Switched from an old BD momentum, this harness is WAY more comfortable and I absolutely love the mesh in the waist. Great for AZ heat and when the gym gets warm. Can totally see and feel the Petzl quality.
PETZL Adjama harness
Light and strong...
This harness is wonderful!
I find it is nice for long climbs and just hanging out. The design keeps it lightweight yet powerful.
Belaying in this harness is great as well-even when someone falls or hang dogging kicks in-on both sides of the rope.
Great deal for such a quality and versatile harness. I LOVE PETZL!
Always quality products if you can spend a little more $ for the best company in the market.
First climbing harness.
Bought this last fall when I got tired of using a cheapo rental harness-very pleased with the fit and comfort.
Been using this for cragging mostly, but a few alpine climbs as well. I can wear this thing all day without any issues.
Only thing I don't like about the Adjama is the adjustment to lower/raise the leg loops-not easy to use IMO.
I plan on keeping this one for a while.
Good, but size dependent
- runs big.
- gear loops are different sizes for different harness sizes. So, the medium and large have extremely awesome huge rear gear loops, but the small has very small rear loops. I was between medium and small, so over the last 3 years I have used both.
- mesh design breaths well and the buckles have a good feel. Pretty Comfy.
Bottom line: If you fit a medium or a large, it's a great breathable harness with awesomely big gear loops. If you're a small and you have a big rack, avoid it.
Just started and does the job. affordable. no complaints. this will hold me over until I get better and need more.

does petzl sell an ice axe holster for...
does petzl sell an ice axe holster for this harness?
I don't believe they do. But the back haul loops would probably work just as good or better than something extra and clunky that you would have to attach and haul around.
Hope this helps :D
They do sell ice clippers - it has two slots. Handy.
my favorite piece of gear. I feel safe, comfortable, and i like the blue. The legs were very comfortable, weather i was on ice or rock. The waist is very dispersed on weight. I have no tight spots, and have taken quite the falls on it--each time a safe and comfortable fall. I have hung in it for long periods at a time on multi pitch sport climbs, still most comfortable harness i have used!
I love this harness. I use it primarily for gym climbing, but it is rated for anything (including alpine). It took me a while to get the sizing right, as it said I was a Medium but it turned out a small was what fit best. I would not use this for mountaineering since you still have to step into it.
Overall this is a great and cool looking harness and at a reasonable (kind of) price.
Perfect harness for everything
I bought this a year ago as a second harness. I used to own a black diamond harness but every time i took a lead fall it would come dangerously close to damaging my man parts. The way the legs loops fit on this harness ensure that I don't crush my bits and pieces when taking whippers. The gear loops hold everything I want to bring with me and more. And the harness breathes really well in the summer.
Bottom line, buy this harness and you won't regret it.
Great so far
Bought this as my first my first climbing harness. I've rented harnesses before and found them to be extremely uncomfortable. After a few uses and many hours, this one still feels comfortable, even during a couple short falls. Stitching all seems to be well done. I have a 32inch waist and the medium fits perfect.
Sizing of the Med could be a little smaller but an overall awesome harness!
I love this thing. This harness is so versatile with the Caritool slots and then the ventilation for the warmer climbing. I am a fan of how comfortable yet lightweight this harness. You won't be disappointed with this other than the higher price. Get it on sale and you are set!
This harness is super comfortable, have always liked the light profile of harnesses. You have a great range of mobility in this thing and it breaths really well. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
your do it all kinda harness!
iAfter trying on several brands of harnesses, This one came out as my favorite,I'm a big fan of how comfortable this is and the ability to use it in a multitude of situations. Its nice having four loops for your swag and its also nice knowing that you can perform to your fullest without your equipment holding you back! A quality product for the serious climber!
