You climb sport, trad, ice and alpine but only want to get one harness. You already have a whole room full of gear, no need to add more if you don't have to. The Petzl Adjama Climbing Harness does it all. With four gear loops and three more slots for Petzl Caritools, this harness is a great choice for sport, trad and ice climbing. The waist and leg loops are equipped with DoubleBack buckles that allow for easy adjustment to add or remove layers.
Bottom Line: One harness for everything.

Comfortable and lightweight

This is a remarkably comfortable harness. The breathable padding around the waist and legs were a pleasure and the soft gear loops in the back went unnoticed under 65lb pack. I wore this harness during a particularly long descent while 5 other climbers with full overnight packs rappelled off of me. Much to my surprise I had absolutely no soreness in my lower back the next day. Even after I’d been wearing it for 12 hours straight, with the full pack the only points that were sore were just where the ridged gear loops were caught under my waist belt. The harness is lightweight and comfortable and doesn’t restrict movement at all. It also packs small which is nice when trying to cram a week’s worth of gear into a pack. I did find that the gear loops were awkwardly positioned for trad climbing like a previous reviewer mentioned but that's my only criticism.

I'm a petite female and find the XS fits me perfectly although the leg loop doesn't stay adjusted when I make it smaller. Overall, it's a very light harness but since I belay a lot men heavier than me, their falls make it uncomfortable in this harness. Also, I find the location of the gear loops dreadful since I'm right handed. It's not very useful for trad climbing. In fact, I'm looking for another harness to hold all of my gear for trad climbing. This harness is great for the gym.

I believe that the black + orange "Climbing Harness" is last year's model, while the gray and green "Harness" is this year's model. Petzl does not offer the black and orange one on their website (they only offer current models).

It fits well, relatively lightweight and comfortable. The high-wear areas (tie-in points, around buckles) seem well-reinforced. No complaints here. Highly recommended!
